All that being said, I hope thing brings you to the realization that this contestant was robbing each and every other contest participant of a chance to place high in the rankings on trading skill. You are price delay (lag) trading. This type of trading is predatory and hurts brokers who provide market making services (have dealing desks.) Put simply, if the broker's price feed is delayed and there's a difference between actual market price and the price feed, you are exploiting this delay (lag) for profit at the broker's expense. His question gave away that he has little experience using the trading platform. I wouldn't expect someone who has trouble selecting which symbols are quoted in MT4 to be able to win a contest from skill alone. Also, his question came off demanding and self centered. If he asked in a more polite way, I wouldn't have made such a harsh comment.

Are you kidding? This is called momentum/trend and news trading.Look up the latest international news about Italy's economy... they are simply playing the negative sentiment in that index, while risking a lot in hopes of a big payout, and it's working well for them. It won't last forever, and many accounts in this contest have blown up trying to do the same.I say congrats to them for staying atop of current events and profiting from it...

If FXCM was a MM instead of a STP broker, it would pretty much be the same as trading CFDs anyway.I'm not too worried about index CFD traders here... what worries me is how the rankings only line people up on realized P/L instead of the market value of the account. We won't know the true winners till everyone is liquidated on the last day.
