The Absolute Gain will pretty much always be smaller on this account because its a managed account and there are deposits and withdrawals every now and then. Also, myfxbook does not take into consideration withdrawals when calculating this number.
Its a very useful number when you have an account with one deposit and then go to work on it but it seems to be useless number for accounts with funds coming in and out.

Hi Robert.
I notice in your account that your equity % shown is 38,92% .
So that means that, in spite of your absolute gain is 55,79%, since you began your account and consider all deposits/withdrawals, in fact your equity is losing 61,08% ?
So for a 5k$ initial deposit, and consider you are gain 55,79%, you would have 7789$. But, consider your open hide positions, then, as it seems you have 38,92% of the balance as equity (so losing 61,08%), then your equity would be 3031$? (if you close today you would lose 39% of the initial deposit, in spite of you are showing 61,78% gain)
Am I right?
I confess I am just get use with myfxbook, but that was what seems to me in a first glance.
Please feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

Average Joe
1. Absolute gain has no meaning on managed accounts as there are multiple accounts that have become member at different times and deposit and withdrawals make that number worthless. Do some thinking about it and find out how it is calculated and you should agree with me.
2. Culumative gain is of more use in this case as new base is established ever time there is a deposit.
3. Its not as easy as you imagine, because different clients join at different time and have different amount of build in profit everyone will have a different DD % in their account, the first member will be in the best position while the last members will be in the worst position.
4. Assuming this was an individual account the calculation goes like this $5000+61.78%=$8,089 -38.37%=$3,103.75
got to go more later

First of all thank you for your answer and to understand my question and not see this as some critic. Honest, it isn´t.
Second, I understand that is a mess do calculations consider all deposit and withdrawals, but for the purpose only of an theorical individual account, when we see that the account has shown equity in parenthesis (38,92%), that means that the equity is 38,92% of the actual balance?
If that so, consider your example, if you would close that open trades right now, then you would have $3,103.75 (so losing from the initial $5,000 deposit: $1,896.25 or 37,93% or for the actual balance $8,089, losing: $4,985,25, or 61,63% of the actual balance)?

I don't consider your comment/question as criticism.
Getting back to the discussion, your are correct, on average that is true with this account, while some loose less then others the average loss is what is shown.
The loss is primarily due to the bloodbath we have seen since Wednesday and the loosing trades are in EURUSD.
If you look at the historical trades of all the three accounts in my portfolio you will see that the system I'm using provides me with excellent trade opportunities most of the time and all the accounts were/are Live accounts.
This is probably the first time I have been in such a deep drawdown but the conditions were unprecedented and I'm treating it as external condition beyond my control, and I will keep trading the way I have so far. Yes I could have had better risk control mechanisms in place but I didn't and here we are now. Most of the position is hedged at this moment and yes, I understand its going to be hard to un-hedge, but I'm willing to try this and work it out this way versus just closing and starting over, with some market cooperation I may not have to work twice for the same money.
To answer your question about hiding some details, as the name implies this is a managed account and I am being compensated for my performance so common sense/logic dictates that I do not broadcast my open positions for free to the world while someone is paying for that information. I hope you agree with me on that.
The $$ amounts are hidden as well, as again this is managed account and no one needs to see that information and even if this was only my individual account I would still not share that info above 10K equity.
The past trades, % gain and open drawdown are pretty much all anyone should need to make a judgment if they want to join or not.
I hope this answers most of the questions, but feel free to ask more if you have any, anything more detailed or concrete I'd need to communicate through e-mail.

Hang in there my friend... remain calm and do what you have to do to off set the negative trades you are holding. Nevertheless I hope this experiences turns you into a strong advocate of stop loss and cutting your lost short and quick. But it happens, you can pull through.

Hi Pistis
Thank god for hedging :)
I'll get out of it, it may take some time but I will. As to stop losses you are absolutely right they need to be used, I'm planning to make another attempt in the coming weeks to stick to 5% DD/SL.
Lots of people lost a lot of money late last week, I'm still in the game so I guess I'm still doing something right.

Why is it that people always delete their blown accounts? Why not show the true picture of your trading especially when you are managing money for others? Why it is embarrassing to show a blown account? We all know that this market isn't easy - well at least those that have been around for a while ....

ROLF - I know. You know what really got up my nose? This comment from Kapend Investments on Millet Dad's page. The guy turned $30.00 into $699.00 and he receives comments like this one below.
<quote=getupsta>
Traders like these are the ones who mess it up for the real traders/portfolio managers.... For many this is just a game, for others its almost like a casino ( gambling, unnecessary risk, no money management skills) and then there are the selected few who truly utilize this site as a platform to exhibit a trading art.
If you go and look at Kapend Investments page it hasn't even been updated and they have also deleted an account. Oh, how the selected few who truly utilize this site as a platform to exhibit a trading art fall. Am I annoyed? Yeah, probably 😄 People who are managing money for others should show their true trading history - not just their winning accounts
