The facility to create these in MT4 is called the strategy tester. So strategies makes the most sense to me I guess. However I would agree that some kind of disclaimer would be in order as there are no doubt people on here unaware of the failings of the strategy tester in MT4.

Thanks for the support folks and thanks to all the people who emailed offering to help out with the EA if they could.I'm back from my short break now and raring to go to get this EA to a stage where I'm happy that the live trading can come close to the backtest results. If I can make it perform to even 1% of it's potential I will be happy!

Thanks for all the comments folks. I'm away at the moment so this will be a short reply.I think the new strategies section is a great idea. Not only does it allow one to privately carry out analysis on EA's to check out their monthly consistency but it also opens up MyFxBook for a wider debate on MT4 and it's limitations/possibilities.Already this thread has hopefully helped inform some people and that can only be a good thing. Of course there will be people that abuse it, but then it's down to each individual to establish the veracity of systems.

ATC won't let me open an account with them, they have an arrangement with FXCM not to take UK clients it would seem.I do however appreciate the help and would be interested in your findings.I've been using this linkmt4i.com/spread/symbol.aspx?symbolid=4and this linkmt4spreads.com/To check spreads and obviously discounting any of the brokers that have bad reputations.

Hi Markob, I have tried it on Eur/Usd but without as much success to date. There are some changes I am already looking into. A couple should make it slightly more accurate. If I can push the accuracy up towards the 70 percent mark then I can afford to drop a pip from the target and it should still be very profitable.MB Trading average about 1.6 pips on Eur/Chf, even in the Asian session. So, there's good hope for it.I'm always happy to discuss trading ideas or robot development in more depth. I'm away for a few days after today, but once I'm back I'll happily generate a $1k backtest using standard lots and no money management if people are interested in seeing it. It often doesn't survive a 5 pip movement, fortunately it does more often than it doesn't.

Hi,Not sure if this has been suggested. It would be good if we could introduce a voucher system for people contributing to the site. In effect if you find someone speaks a lot of sense most of the time then you can vouch for them and this shows against their profile. People using the site would then be able to bear this in mind when reading the comments or assessing systems. Steve

Thanks for your comments Markob.As, I said, it is indeed in Alpha stage at the moment. Here's the problem with it.For those people who don't know. MT4 takes the spread that the broker has at the point a strategy test is started. This is then kept for the duration of the backtest. So, for scalping strategies this can make a massive difference. It's one of the reasons scalping robots can be sold with ridiculous backtest results that can't be reproduced in forward trading. Hi folks,Great work on the strategy section.It would be good to have some privacy filters on the strategy section, similar to what we have on accounts, rather than just the on - off switch. Some people may want to keep certain elements of their backtest private.Steve

This is my latest EA.It's a scalping strategy with a 1:1 risk/reward ratio. This is the backtest from 2007 to date with a 1% equity risk per trade.This is still in Alpha release stage and it needs some work to complete it.
