Just a note to any Tradency Mirror Platform users - I have just been advised that setting risk to 0.1 does NOT halt trades! You actually need to delete the strategy from your portfolio until after the holidays.I learnt this the hard way as I closed out of USD/CAD trades manually, only to have Tradency open three new trades on USD/CAD.

Great insights for newbie traders such as myself tradingshed, really appreciate the effort you've gone to there! If I could give you rep, I would!!!I closed 18 trades manually last night, for an overall net loss of around -$50 as I did not want to let those trades on GBP/USD and USD/CAD roll over through Xmas and it was an opportunity to remove some risk at (nearly) flat.I've now formerly reduced risk on GBP/USD and EUR/USD to risk level 1 (4.0 in the Tradency mirror platform) as well as reduced risk level to near 0 (0.1 in the Tradency mirror platform) on USD/CAD.I currently have 19 r...

Just prior to fughe last couple of comments, and after some viewing of historical lows over the last 3 years, I've reduced risk on the two majors to one, and .01 on the three other pairs I am trading. I think this market could go either way at present, but I am erring on the side of caution, protecting my capital and letting current trades ride the waves until the New Year.I'm strapped in, let the ride begin!

tradingshed...thanks for the comforting remarks and technical analysis/diligence...greatly appreciated.A couple of observations - I have a couple of trades still open from Nov 25 & 30 respectively for EUR/GBP - they seem to be hanging on for dear life. All other open trades (approx. 20 or so are from Dec 6 onwards). 50% of my DD is in EUR/USD so hoping the bullish divergences blow up! EUR/GBP is 10% of DD, GBP/USD is 10%, EUR/JPY is 20% and USD/CAD is 10%.I am interested to see how the EA performs here in times of stress. I'm presuming you are using the MT4 EA, as I cannot see TP targe...

I concur with what kneepad has just stated, I had a great growth curve and then on Dec 12 curve to 0!!! WTF??? What happened myfxbook? A real blemish on the performance here, may be time to seek other analysis alternatives? To everyone else, I am experiencing significant DD as well, currently at around $1900 on a $12.5K account. I guess this is to be expected at this time of year, just hoping for a pullback in the next 2-3 days so I can close flat and have a break, to return to trade mid-Jan 2012.The EA has done well in previous times of DD, so I remain positive here (besides the fact that I do...

Hi PeggyI for one am trading the mirror account with WPFX. It's convenient to run the mirror for me as I have no fear of MT4 crash, server reboot etc (I'd run the MT4 EA on a VPS if I was not using Tradency but VPS's need to be restarted/upgraded/patched sometimes too). I don't think you'd see very much variance assuming the same pairs, risk level, capital etc (I didn't on demo), but Dustin has stated previously that they may cease development of the MT4 EA and concentrate solely on the Tradency Mirror Platform (please feel free to correct me on this if I have misunders...

Hi CanAmYou are entirely correct, but the recent DD on EUR/JPY and USD/CAD on my TEA account brought in significant profits when a pullback occurred. I can only assume from my short time live trading this EA and the observations that I've made is that significant trades are sometimes made in the opposite direction of a trend (EUR/JPY showed this to me as increasingly larger sell trades were made as the pair devalued) Essentially, this had the effect that as the pullback occurred, the very last largest trade went to significant profit quickly subsidising the loosing trades to a profitable p...

Hey tyoungIn answer to your questions, my personal opinion as follows:1) I don't think this is just Tom's opinion - I and am sure many others have seen these two pairs to prove to be the most profitable on their live accounts. I think Dustin has mentioned in one of the webinars that he is personally looking to place more of his current capital into those two pairs as they have proven to be the most profitable2) This is true, so do I and again, many others3) (my opinion again) I think diversification is key, there is nothing to say that one of the other pairs outside of the main two mig...

Hi PeggyMy observations re: DD is that this EA recovers well from it (I know I and others actually look forward to periods of DD because the recovery brings in great profits). Unfortunately, there are no guarantees on telling the EA to only take trades in one direction and hoping that the trend continues/reverses. From what I can see, you need to be able to let the EA play both sides of the coin to ensure that (most of the time in my personal experience) you recover from DD and in others your loss is absolutely minimised. I have traded small accounts for over a month on minimum risk settings -...

NessaYes, I am an experienced share market trader, I have mentioned elsewhere that I am a Forex newbie, this is my first foray with an EA. Through my personal research, no other EA has shown the propensity for profit and the ability to 'preserve capital' as well as this one has (& does might I add). I tend to sit on the sidelines for a very long time, and analyse the toolsets that others are using. I work full time, so trading the markets (from Australia) is very draining (I did this for a period of months and it was extremely tiring). I learnt about end-of-day trading in stocks so...

Nessa, you are obviously of "the glass half-empty" school of thought. I took at look at several of your posts and your level of pessimism is high. You seem to try and poke holes in anyone that is successfully trading or trying something new. And you don't seem to be sharing any results of your own trades?!?I am of "the glass half-full" school of thought. Your comment makes me smile...have you ever thought 'what if my comment is correct?' And it's $2.56 million in two years, mate. If Math is is not your strong point, maybe Forex isn't for you?Tom's EA...

Up until this point, I haven't chimed in but...I've been trading Tom's EA on demo accounts for over a month (6 demo accounts, all differing pairs, all differing risk levels - but none that exceed Tom's recommendations) as well a a live account since Nov 23 (first trades placed by Tom's EA on that date). Every single one of these accounts is in profit, and my live account is up 23%!!! (My starting balance was USD$10,000 it is now USD$12,269).As many, many others have stated, run this EA as per the rules and suggestions offered by Dustin and his team, and profits will be made...
