Totally agree, same story. Was referenced to MDP by a high-profile account doing well from it exclusively.

And my point in using it is for illustrative purposes, to show that in very most cases slippage occurs not due broker's unavailability to fill the order at the price desired by trader, but simply because price has already moved by the time order gets into processing. To illustrate it further, from my personal experience in absolute most cases when you trade news spike you get slipped same amount of pips be it .1 lot order or 20 lots, unless your broker executes smaller orders in house and doesn't slip at all and processes large orders by offseting them against their inventory and possib...

what you are writing here is what would be seen on exchange-based market, not on OTC, where are petty market makers who call themselves retail ECN. if you believe in retail forex being traded in open market you are very naive. but anyway, keep dreaming.

What I am saying even if you go with 0.01 lot position you will get slipped often enough, just due to the delay and price moved away. And it has nothing to do with liquidity - there was more than enough at the moment order went out, but price moved until it can get processed. It's about the latency and order processing speed.

Even if there is unlimited liquidity you will get some slippage on ECN, just because it will take some time for the order to reach matching engine/inventory processing and if during this time price will move away (what will happen in more active sessions) you will be slipped. In most cases this is the reason of slippage, not due to liquidity unavailability.

Market highly anticipated no-vote by Slovak parliament. Just a small 15 pips spike down on Slovak TV announcement. Wasn't enough even for a risky setting NO=3 to enter.

Good job. I was running 0 8 8 under impression these were defaults, had an overall small loss over NFP, reverted to defaults.

They work absolutely fine with all brokers recommended in MDP manual. But people look more for excitement of experiment than for money.

I am not, people (and HFT) are buying on retracements. MDP has analytic algo that evaluations recent market volatility, range or channel borders and estimates when retracement starts. MDP sells where momentum and break out traders are buying. The reason retracements exist is due to Market Makers replenishing their inventories. If you traded the news you should know it: when you buy on a positive news someone is selling to you, in most cases this is a market maker, so unless a market maker wants to suffer with a short position in a long market he will start selling more soon in order to get bet...

Fughe, liquidity on OBFX like in any order book is not in lots, its in Mio, so multiply by 10. Then you assume you trade directly with the interbank but you aren't. Besides, we trade only small retracement of the trend, most people will be buying (given we are selling up spike) and providing us with liquidity to sell, even though intra-broker. The only competition comes from other MDP traders and from the broker itself as he would be selling in order to offset his earlier buy but he will be selling on ECN not internally, so I don't see no problem with liquidity at all. The only concern...

But once again, talking about slippage at retail brokerages - forget about liquidity, you should only be concerned with it if you trade 10Mio+ orders institutionally. Slippage at retail comes in 90%+ cases simply due to the latency, during the time it took your order to get to the broker and for the broker to process it price simply move away. If you were using pending stop order, it is a latency of your broker, a time that took him to execute your conditional market order (this is what a stop order really is) and market simply moved away during this time. This is why slippage can be positive ...
