I have checked the logs. The EA didn't even try to set SL/TP or to close the order earlier. However, I was lucky. The order was opened miles away from the limit, otherwise I would have lost more than twice as much.

That wasn't intended - just the old auto EST offset bug (-6 instead of +7).

I didn't stop it. It has been hanging in an open buy for about three weeks, currently with a floating loss of 110 pips.

The system doesn't set hard SLs, but it monitors and manages the trades. The worst thing in backtests I have seen was 8 trades with -170 pips to -300 pips each - but that was in September/October 2013.

I wish I knew. It doesn't seem to be any common grid or basket strategy. Sometimes trades are opened at more or less the same price so I assumed so far that it adds trades if the signal is confirmed. I haven't seen more than 8 open trades in backtests, but without SL that could hit hard.

I haven't decreased the risk for almost a year. 2018 was about break even before interest and commission. The strategy is probably dead anyway.

Yes, these settings are short only. The set files re provided by the vendor and apparently they expect better profits from short trades.

Yes. Nice catch. The account must have slipped through during time change. However, I will keep the setting since we switch to summer time in just four weeks.Also, last year the setting was correct and the performance wasn't bad at all, so maybe the last few months would have been better with the correct settings.

That would be a different EA (FRPEA). Best Scalper has been v1.32 the whole time I've been using it.
