Steve;Putting the best spin on rob559's bloviating....Its not better, or worse, than a martingale. Its different. A martingale can kill your account all at once. A normal trading system like sPhantom can kill you by the "death by a thousand cuts." Both take money management to mitigate risks.

I don't believe that sPhantom would allow the EA to run to the full 200 pip SL. I think this is an emergency SL if communications are lost or some unforseen circumstance would happen that they lost control. To sPhantom - You need to communicate with your users in a clearer more defined manner. If my assumptions are correct, why don't you just come out and say..."The 200 pips SL is an emergency SL. We watch the markets and we will manually close a losing trade at a time we deem appropriate. We cannot give you an acceptable specific pip loss because it depends on market conditions,...

You are correct. Running just a little money in each account IS 14 times riskier. Martingales need to be adequately capitalized. You cannot win with just a little money in the account. I trade many martingales and I run anywhere from 1.25x to 5x the amount of money they say is needed to be adequately funded and I rarely blow out an account.

Ace;I agree with your payment model entirely. Hell, 50 bucks a quarter (3 months) is enough to make it worth their while. 500 subscribers would be 100 grand a year in residuals.The fee and payment systems have always been difficult. I am having an EA coded as we speak. If it is as good as I think its going to be (yes, I have scruples, if not, I wont market it) I hope to market it and I have been thinking about these exact issues. Yes, essentially, you are screwed. Not saying they will, they'll tell you it will never happen, but it does happen. That's why you can never rely on any one system. It may work for awhile, then quit (see Forex Growth Bot for a perfect example), or they may just decide to pack up and quit. You can be screwed when its on your computer. Trusted US brokers?? Go abroad and get a real broker. FinFx (Finland) has 200:1 with 300:1 if you ask for it. Traders Way (Dominica) has 500:1 up to 5 grand and 200:1 after that. ForexFS (Australia) has 300:1. They all take US clients. I've traded with all of them. As an Amerikan, I decided to start an offshore entity for a nonUS presence to access XM Markets for 888:1 up to 20,000 USD. sPhantom is a trade copier, not a trade controller. They can modify a TP or a SL, but once sent to your system, there really is nothing more they can do for you from a management perspective. Remember, they are trading and their TP is out there, in advance, just like yours. Any number of things could have happened that let their trade close while yours didn't. Most likely, they had a better spread. You are trading a fixed spread at 1.8 pip. The EURUSD is very liquid and I occasionally get spreads of 1 pip. It could be the distance to your brokers server. Trades don't close when they touch the TP line. You're not accounting for the bid/ask spread. You have to go through the line by the amount of the spread, to get your price. Additionally, spreads vary between brokers. sPhantoms broker may be printing a 1.5 pips spread and you maybe trading with someone that has a 2 pip minimum spread. Spreads vary widely between brokers.

The first two trades sPhantom took in my real account were spurious. Their systems did not take them. 2 trades the same minute, then both closed one minute later. i reported this, and they said the problemwsas on their end, and that they fixed it. We will see.

EURUSD will probably chop now until the FOMC meeting minutes tomorrow at 2. At the third rejection of the local top, I added a third full sell position to help things along this time. I've about offset the losses in the second position at this time.
