Well; I looked at your link and recognized the price averaging strategy but I can't fathom your operation strategy, can you explain what happened on Jan 3rd at 18:40? See, it's not good enough for a system to make money. If the process is erratic, there is no way to know if you are looking at a good period of time or a bad one. You can make money for years and then lose it all in one day. So most of what we tend to look for is good money management techniques. Honestly, anyone can make money in this game, keeping it is another matter.Bob

togr; maybe an idea to help protect against a single large failure would be to add a slow recovery algo as a back up, the negative is that it lowers the percentage of profits but it does add stability. What it won't do is to protect against a currency failure. Unfortunately, me and a few other fundamentalist, think that at least one currency failure is a real possibility. You still need to be vigilant, rough waters ahead. Bob

No B1FXprof, that post was for that Iridia guy that has been posting the same post all over the forum. Just copy and paste, he never reads what he is posting to, just straight out spamming. The whole idea of these forums is to exchange ideas and develop our effectiveness through a lot of competing ideas. It doesn't always work well but spammers that don't participate, just using us as their property shows disrespect for all of us. I guess it takes all kinds to make up a world.Bob

So did you develop these yourselves and what do you call it? I would like to go through the theory with either or both of you, only what you can talk about of course. Also, if this isn't the best place, we can go off board. Pooler, obviously your not using a true martingale, but are most likely using the term to mean a recovery system of some kind. Yes, I should have added the assumption that the base currency and the currency that the account was set up with is the same. Damn, and I thought I did such a good job with that explanation. I have never seen 1000:1 being offered, was that just an example or are there brokers offering 1000:1? Highest I've seen was 500:1 but I don't get out much.Bob

Leverage is one of those common errors in forex because it is different than for stocks. In forex the trade size is set by the lots size. For a standard account that is $100,000 per lot, or 100,000 pounds or yen, it doesn't matter but it is 100,000 to 1 lot. (Mini accounts are 10,000 to 1) This is the real leverage but that isn't the leverage that is talked about in forex. The margin is set by the leverage. Good to hear, are you familiar with the spit grid? It doesn't seem like it would but a split grid will dramatically increase the profit percentage of a standard grid while making the whole grid safer. Pretty cool. Bob

You wouldn't think that one VPS system would be all that different from another but they are. A VPS setup for forex just works better than standard ones. Forex VPS kept crashing and their customer service sucked too. I moved my service to some tech guys VPS system where I ran 4 MT4 each with their robots with no problems for $29.00 a month.They're good, they just have the stupidest name in the world. One of the most berated tools available to traders is the martingale. For an industry that requires emotional control, its really interesting how the very mention of martingale will generate an amazing emotional response. Here's a little feed back for you ExcellenceFX, as soon as I see your history is private, my interest is done. There is a lot of charlatans in the investment world. If someones has something to hide, I won't do business with them. It may be limiting to some extent because some of the technical people are just bad at sales and don't realize what they are telling the public when they block out info. Yes, but don't do it at the same time. It's like learning algebra and geometry at the same time. you need to learn both but if you try to do it at the same time, you will get confused.I recommend the new investor/trader start with systemic systems (a subset of fundamental systems), as it gives a good start to successful trading while laying the foundation for the other areas such as technical.
