Is this Blessing?
Stable indeed, but I've always wondered why the equity curves flattens out with these strategies.
6% in jan to 3% in May/June. Could be easily explained by market conditions( trends slowing down - less volatile - small ranges - etc ) Or is it typical for martingale systems to decrease their risk setting after 6months of survival for longevity?

Hi Will,
Thanks for your message. This account is trading one of my private EAs that I have been developing for more than 1 year.
It adapts the risk according to some conditions in order to reduce exposure, but some times I also perform some manual adjusts if there is any economic situation that could increase wild volatilite like the Japan Earthquake.
Maybe in the begining of the account the exposure was a litlle bit higher than compared with now, but this month the this account will complete 12 months of live trading perfomance with just 5.5% of DD.
Thanks and best regards,
emc2Forex

But looking at the growth chart its scary. 5.49% DD is the loss trades closed. But when I look at the growth chart, 9 Aug with - 2450 pips, 22 sept with - 600 pips. 4 oct -300 pips, 28 oct -250 pips, 24 oct -250 pips. Its good that your account had the sustaining power to float these -2450 pips until it came back...the DD of 5.49% is not the real story. Will accounts sustain this klind of real drawdowns is wat need to be evaluated. Is there a money management strategy even when it was hitting that -2450 pips on 9 aug? not all accounts would survive this.

That's why I asked for the PAMM details, You can't get a full understanding of the risk behind this system until you can see the floating loss on the Balance Chart, as the Growth chart can be very misleading.

Also since he ABS gain is 1/3 of the Growth. More funds were added.
Now were these funds added to keep the system from busting since it is at -6000 pips?

True Will. New traders..dont fall on the DD stated. It'll show just 5%. But how much did it actually float is the question. Your account maynot be able to float (-2450 pips) it. Good luck!

Hi Will and Mathew,
Thanks for your comments. I will probably turn this strategy available on a PAMM account in the near future, actually I was waiting Alpari UK platform.
The difference you mentioned of ABS gain is probably related to the history trades that the broker archive time to time. Also there were some problems with withdrawal that can make this difference, I can say that no aditional funds were added.
It is a strategy that can have floating loss from time to time, but as you can see the the growth and equity chart are aligned almost all the time, so there were no long and deep periods of losing equity.
Thanks and best regards,
