I am using the recommended lot size and my drawdawn yesterday never exceeded 15% and all the trades closed nearly breakeven, and still in profit for the week. If your account was stopped out, you are trading at a ridiculous risk.

The risk factor is a percentage of your account that you want to risk per trade. It is not the lot size.So it is not $140 at 0.07 lots.It means it will trade 0.01 lots per $140 dollars, or another words it will risk only 7% of your account. (risk factor 0.07)Alex recommends trading 0.01 lots per $100 dollars. That is equivalent to 10% (risk factor 0.10)With a 1000 deposit and a risk factor of 0.10 (10%) it will trade 0.1 lots.You can confirm this by playing with the settings in the strategy tester.

@thriftysigns the second question is, when you backtested, if the drawdown happened because of no possibility to adjust GMToffSet?The backtest was ran with the correct GMT offset, but I didn't account for Daylight Savings Time. I will re-rerun the test again and adjust for DST.

The backtest of alex shows a risk factor of 0.07 with 97$ deposit. 7 times higher than his recommendations of 0.01 per 100$.Perhaps he does it because he can't adjust the riskfactor inbetween the test when the balance is rising./quote]The risk factor is not the same as the lot size. Alex's backtest is at a rick factor of 0.07 (7% = 0.01 lots per $140.00) which is actually less then the recommended risk factor of 0.1. (Risk factor of 0.1 or 10% = 0.01 lots per $100.00)

If you have Daylight Savings Time, it may need to be set to +3GMT. The trade should have happened about a half hour before the open of the Asian session.

.1 Risk is .01 per $100 dollars. I my test I only used half that risk (.05 risk).In backtesting, the ea doesn't seem to make trades on Sundays. It should make a trade today when the asian session begins.

I was thinking running it with a risk of 0.05, and close all trades when DD is at 30%.Then double the risk to 0.1 until full recovery of 30%, which would take about 5-6 weeks.Then lower risk back to 0.05. The way I figure it is the chances of another large DD in that 5-6 week period would be slim.Any thoughts?

I set the Risk to .05 and ran the test again.From 1-1-15 to 4-7-16, it did very well with a max of 27.47% DD.1-1-14 to 12-31-14 was not good with a DD of 49% and only a 1.34 Profit FactorIn 2013 the account is totally blown on 7/11/13

Ok, just bought it and ran some back-test with 99% tick data. Slightly disappointed as it is actually a grid trader when it goes into a loss. My backtest does not match vendors posted backtest with same settings. The account crashed in my testing, but those trades seem to be missing from the report. Overall the ea performed very well, except for those one or two times. I will definitely use the Equity Sentry EA that was posted a while back. That should take care of those rare situations and still leave a good profit.Maybe the vendor can update the EA to include equity protection, or at least a...

I was using Forex Identity EA from PipInvestment.com until the owner scammed everyone and discontinued the unlimited license.As of 2/11/13 I will be searching for another EA, and hopefully will have the same or better results. I have tried Forex Growth Bot on occasion, but am not real happy with it's exit strategy. I am thinking of trying Forex Sigma EA/signal service, but need to wait until I can manually close the last basket left by a now non-funtioning Forex Identity.
