Behemoth Eur/Usd 1 Lot per trade

I've binned countless systems. Some because they were flawed ideas, which were shown up by a visual backtest but others because backtesting identified that there were periods where a currency range traded for an extended period and the EA would have caused unacceptable drawdown - or similar changes to a currency pairs behavior were flagged up.I've heard the theory that the EA's get sent out to the brokers before. I think it's pure paranoia to think that the entire Forex world is being driven by a load of retail investors using Expert Advisors. They would need some giant superco...

Thanks, this version has already been discarded in favour of the version that produced the backtests further down the list.

Yes, I agree. It's very easy to fool yourself into thinking that your system works because of a backtest and putting it live on serious money before it looks good on small money is just silly. However, I think if you keep the concepts simple and work from sounds trading principles then there is less to go wrong. Most of the issues with backtesting come from known problems, such as the strategy tester using a fixed spread on the entire test or price spikes that aren't included in the tick data on the strategy tester, but these things can be catered for both in your strategy and in your ap...

You are of course at liberty to completely ignore this section then. For those of us that do think that there are benefits to backtesting and are aware of it's limitations it's been a godsend.

As I said in my first post on this EA. Only forward testing will tell if this EA really works. It's the limitation of using fixed range bars. They always return n/a as MT4 classes all the bars as mismatched chart errors due to the changing timeframe.

This is version 0.2 of Behemoth. It's still in Alpha development stage. Again, modelling quality is n/a as I am using fixed range bars, which always return n/a.I hope to have this forward testing by the end of the week.

This is the first backtest off a new strategy I am working on, again only at the alpha stage at the moment. I need to spend more time looking at the exit strategy. This has been run with a 5% risk per trade. This uses Fixed Range Bars and so the modelling quality is always going to be n/a. It aims to capture the big swings in the markets and get out quickly if it is wrong. Designed to mimic how a manual trader would trade.Only forward testing will tell if this will work.

Could you explain to me why using a fixed lot size gives a better indication of drawdown than using a fixed percentage risk of the account please? I've never come across this before.

Nice results, is this your own EA?I actually prefer to see compounded results, providing it's with a sensible risk percentage. You wouldn't be trading 0.1 lots once you had built up your capital.

The system doesn't work on a genuine broker, there is no support to give.

Setrox, you are wasting your time. There is no support because there is no working product. These results are created on Global Clearing Group ( 2pipsforex ) who are a known scam broker. Dominic is using them in order to sell his EA. There is no way that a market maker broker has allowed Dominic to withdraw $500,000 from them in two months without doing something to stall his trading. There are no legitimate ECN brokers that this robot works on. I know I have tried them all.Sometimes in life you have to hold your hands up and say "Hey I made a mistake" and move on.Failing to recognis...

If anyone has made £10k in two days with Dominic's EA please stand up now.ForexInvestGroup, I'd be happy to get involved in a project to try and get an arbitrage system that actually works on a live account and not some hacked MT4 server.Dominic, you've made half a million dollars in two months and you won't give people refunds when they can't get the EA to work, with the brokers you tell them to use? That says it all.

Excellent, one final thing.I can't see that it's possible to hide this hourly data.It doesn't bother me but I'm guessing there are some people out there that would rather their trading hours not be public information.

The new hourly analytics is brilliant.Could you think about adding in custom analysis for the hours as well?I appreciate that it's not going to be a 100% true reflection of how your trading would have worked out if you hadn't traded the hours in question but it would create a ball park figure that allows someone to think."Hey if I didn't trade the New York session I'd be so much better off".This might then spur people to go away and carry out some further tests.Just a thought.

Brilliant!Well done again. It's getting to the point where I no longer have to analyse anything in Excel.Quick question, what time is it based off?Is it the server time of our MT4 install or GMT or some other?

My guess is the EA failed to open a hedge position, due to requotes or some other broker manipulation in his live account and the rest as they say is history.
