Just closed out of a buy order @ 860 ,in profit,I had text alerts set on levels of support,useful when your busy doing research,later we have AUD CPI then open market committee rate decision at 7 pm GMT,will see what happens over night in the Asian market.
Is demo trading enough before real account?

True some Brokers are worse than others,shop around for the best you can find,I was testing out a platform weeks ago,which I would not go back too.

Yeah your right,they have their own plug in to screw with your order,why do you think IT makes up 80% of their staff,very few orders go to market unless its a risk to the firm,if all orders went to market they would be insolvent in one day.

Some pick up on Eur/Usd today thanks to Gold futures,weakness in stocks ,Oil dropping off after last weeks gains,Eur bouncing off the moving averages,not much other major news today.

It would need to be very expensive software,from what I know most of the time these programs are switched off during news events or they go nuts,because fear cant be measured successfully.They can be used for a few months though before the cliff edge disappears.The returns have diminished in the quant backed companies ,most of the exceptional traders have left,now theres a gap in experience, I would use EAs or Robots with extreme caution because we both know stats can be your friend and enemy.Another thing,people are not rational under pressure.

A daily % of capital for loss,as regards upside profit,you should have a pretty good idea how much your FX pair moves as an average,apart from data releases,take for instance eur/usd,if its 100 points daily,I will watch for weakness around this amount,allow for pull backs of 15 points on a strong trend.

Today I missed the news by 1 min still I caught the last 20 points later on,you can read my other posts just before the ECB conference.I was reading a good post on Dailyfx which confirmed my bearish outlook.If you have an interest in eur/usd look at the 10yT note compared to it.More news tomorrow,07.45 GMT ECB.

That's what I did Peter,price alerts are great ,no need to sit and watch screen,sideways are great because you know that orders are accumulating in the background waiting to pounce or drop like today.I stick to Eur/Usd as I know it's habits,easy to trade for me.

780 was a nice bottom,not exactly 710 ,if we get some more bad news on the Euro front we might see a test of 710.

Jesus I had a buy order at 710 grrrr,my trading partner said yesterday move it up to 800,lol.Just caught 21 points in the last few minutes,I missed the bottom by 1 minute.Still looks like an up trend even though 880-900 were former resistance areas!!My students did really well today.Hope you did well my friend.

Everyone has their own way of trading, Buy the time Moving average cross over kicks in half the trade is over or reversing,signals are only useful some of the time,mostly false or too slow because their depending on past data.

The markets are driven by humans,not by acting like a robot,That is why quants are always updating or scraping models they have spent months building,human emotion plays a huge part of trading=over reactions and under reactions,this is the moment for making money,models are built on past experiences of human behaviour in conditions of that time period,you can't build a program around human behaviour,it's a long way off.There are no short cuts to trading,it's learned behaviour over a long period.
