Common sense and reality have left the building my friend, somewhere around 10 pages ago.
Is what's happening in the contest even remotely possible?

No, I don't think that's very possible at all.

My apologies, I don't always know what I'm doing actually, so here's another updated description.A manual strategy based on momentum and price action. This PAMM account could be considered a medium long term investment style with medium-high risk (2-16% floating at any given time). We are going for bigger moves, 200/300/400/500 pips are the norm. Similarly the percentage of successful trades is usually lower when trading daily fx charts, although since we’re looking for a 2:1 or greater risk reward ratio we can actually be profitable with a success rate as low as 30%. This sy...

Brilliant! The last sentence is the kicker, so true. Maybe we could incorporate some molecular biology into trading somehow...I know some of the postulates from my parasitology class could certainly be fulfilled.

I had the same deal where I just couldn't figure out why my SR was so low. I guess it's right though - I am just frought with risk, haha. As I see it, when a person is dealing with such low sums of money like most of us here, it's okay to gear for a little agressive growth. I write this knowing that a lot of the accounts here are a-b-s-ol-u-t-l-e-y bananas like that...uff. anyways, I only found two accounts with higher SR's than yours, one more shady than the other perhaps, but stillhttp://www.myfxbook.com/members/asttrader/universal-manage1/136133http://www.myfxbook.com/member...

No, it's usually pretty tell tale, unless they are using multiple strategies that include martingale etc. It may be more difficult to figure out what's going on then (via only the graph), but usually this isn't the case. This is where communication comes in though, and knowing shouldn't be a problem. Look at some of these guys and observe how they describe what they're doing http://www.currensee.com/leaderboardI don't advocate currensee because I simply don't know enough about them and if they are truly legit, although, the traders/managers seem to have their marbl...

Also, having a track record separates the herd a bit. If a manager has been in the market for 3 years (a year at the least - otherwise it's foolhardy to consider the person) and is still churning out a profit - something is working and it's worth taking a look.

There aren't any secrets really in this business. Nobody has a holy grail. A professional could tell everybody on myFxbook his 'secrets' and exactly how he trades and only a handful would be able to mimic his results. There's far too much discipline and other factors involved. Regardless of the overall strategy (as long as it's not something stupid dangerous strategies like Martingale, Grid or pyramiding), you ought to know what kind of risk you're going to be exposed to as an investor. How much is risked per trade, if there are stop-losses or take-profits involved, how...

Chris, If a 'manager' says little or nothing at all about his system (especially after you ask to know more) that such be a red flag. It's a pet peeve of mine to see hardcore martingale systems being used yet the manager says nothing about it in the description. Great returns my a$$. Learn to recognize what a martingale equity chart looks like. Just be really careful in general with this whole thing. Due Diligence. That's my 2¢ anyway.By the way, your username CBrider, do you mean like a Honda CBR? Maybe the classic CB line? The CB550 is the epitome of cafe racer in my opi...

Any thoughts or comments on this whole debacle?Anyways, I read in the news that if the parliament refuses to approve the measures, Greece will have to leave the euro zone, because they’ll default. I can't tell the difference between bluffing and somthing that's actually serious. ?

Ah, I see now. That's different from my style, I couldn't see past what I normally do. Martingale is a great example! I haven't played around with those for years, it's quite an interesting concept. Kudos people.

How are pips not important? They most certainly are - how does a trader make money when they are negative in pips? I think it's very give and take in accordance to a persons risk managment.

I'll throw the first ball and say 400 pips, average of course. The system I use would generate 200-700 pips a month in the year end average on a 4hr chart. Of course there was the occasional +2,000 pip wonder and -110 loss during some months, but yeah good question.

Forex ain't my job, but I have to give props to any and everybody trading on the daily charts. I would compare it with sailing, it may not be the fastest or most exciting mode of transportation but, man you sure learn how to navigate the open sea.

I agree with John and Steve on the 'patience' aspect. Learning is a life long pursuit no matter what your career or interest - forex trading is no different. One thing that really helped me along was the idea of always following your trading plan. Knowing exactly what you are going to do from start to finish BEFORE you enter a trade, and sticking with it.

Trading Eur/Usd, Usd/Cad, Gbp/Usd, Aud/Usd, Gold, Eur/Aud, Eur/Jpy, and Usd/Chf on the daily chart using a combination of RSI, MACD, and Momentum. The lot sizes will vary and depends on the balance of the account, as well as the pair being traded. We are risking 1% of the account balance per trade. Since this a trend-based system there will be more losers than winners, however, the losses will be small and the wins - much larger. Trading on the daily charts with this many pairs, we can expect to make about 1-3 trades a week on average. The trends take longer to develop and last much longe...
