http://www.myfxbook.com/files/AmberLynn/tick.PNG For those who aren't in the know. The picture above is as close to a tick chart as anyone could have on MT4. Some people have stated that their broker can teleport the price, which would mean on the same tick chart presented you would see a discontinuation of both the ask and bid price, and a very new line at the price which your broker teleported you to.

The smart thing to do is wait, but if the price is increasing prior to the speech, and say the price accumulates at the high prior to the speech, it would be much more probable based on past events, that the price will drop.

An increase in price as we have seen in EU and e/cad almost 12 hours prior to Mario's speech would suggest a sell.If eur pairs accumulate at the same pivot level prior to the news without any pull back, I would suggest selling prior.

What I will also do is next NFP, I'll show you how my spread doesn't even go over 1 pip once NFP is released. As most brokers have spreads of 20 - 50 or even 100 pips for that split second when the news is released.

I'm sorry to hear that. That chart shows "yadix professional ecn account". I even opened my chart over at exness, and octafx and no magical gap! As I said, those gaps aren't the price gaps which we see from friday to sunday. The price gaps which Super Trader has, and you claim to have is based on lost of connection with the server. Then once the server is reconnected you have no information displayed.

I would like to leave everyone with the following recommendation... Please don't trade at FXCM... That is the broker which has the ability of teleporting the BID/ASK price to STOP HUNT your account. I would also assume that FXCM is the reason why Ardifx ACCOUNT HASN'T updated in over 2 weeks. I guess they are also to blame for the reason why his equity and % change is starting to point towards 0. Or maybe he doesn't update his account, because when the account isn't consistently updating, and you have open orders in red, those floating losses don't calculate to the dd% :) ...

That's just it..... His broker has the ability of teleporting the price. Which means the ASK can cross UNDER the bid to fill STOP/lIMIT orders.

Same day.... Same time..... Different broker.... It would appear to me that my chart didn't have the magic powers to teleport "gap".... Well I have the ability of trading with an ECN broker which is on planet earth, where the price doesn't disappear and then magically reappear to "stop loss hunt" you. lOOKS like I should change brokers.http://www.myfxbook.com/files/AmberLynn/nogaphere.PNG

That is a lack of communication between yourself and your server. If you were to compare your chart to another other broker you will notice that they have data on that 1m chart. Yes you have a gap on your chart, but that is because you lacked connection. More then likely at that time you had no signal at all. Those are things which would be much easier to see if your screen was recorded. That is where tick charts come into play.

What your chart is NOT showing gaps... Each tick between that range has simply been touched. That in no way is a GAP. What most people would consider a gap is what Super trader displayed. Yet, your chart is simply missing the high/low of a candle. That can be caused by many issues, which could be with the connection between yourself and the broker. Not to mention the data in a chart can be manipulated within mt4 itself. You'll simply go into loops speaking to him, as in his mind the market can "GAP" when it is open. It's evident that he hasn't the slightest clue as the difference between a GAP AND SPIKE. Have a nice weekend.

What he is claiming is unfortunately untrue as it can not be proven. What he is mentioning is something which occurs MOSTLY in stocks. As stocks gap up/down when the market is closed! When the market is open the price can not just gap to a certain place. That is untrue and he has yet to be able to provide information which proves what he is claiming.

Once again.... Your order was opened and closed because your spread because the spread separated. Please do not post inaccurate things as this "gap" thing, when the market is open. That is something which is impossible to occur. What happens is that when their is no liquidity the spread becomes higher then normal. In times of major news events the ask goes up and the bid drops. Since you spend more time typing then looking at a chart, allow me to share a video with you. The video which is being shared shows how the spread gets split further during certain moments (news events). Ahuru...

That of course is one of the scary things about investing in currencies. You can hold a position over the weekend, and when you check your account, your "SL" would of been passed over! That indeed can happen, and is the ONLY time that your order can be skipped over (sl,tp, pending orders).

That never happens when the market is open. When the market is open you will ALWAYS have a bid and ask price. Several years ago when I traded usd/jpy and it was said that the nuclear power plant was going to exploded, it caused a 350 pip drop in yen pairs in about 15 mins. The price never GAPPED! The spread did increase almost 1.5 cents for several seconds as the price began to drop. The example used was a very poor one and may not be the cause of the issue which the trader above mentioned. Did anywhere in his post he mention that the price gapped? Gapped prices occur from when the market is closed to when it opens. Thank you very much for taking the time in posting that link, but maybe it would be wiser to ask the O.P. if his sl was skipped due to holding an order through a gap, instead of assuming that his loss occurred because of it.

That should tell you something about "sure investments". If you have a sl at 30 pips, and you end up taking a loss for 84 pips (something which I don't believe would ever happen. but many people claim it has happened to them) then why would anyone trade in forex to begin with? The reality is the spread in forex can become 10 cents in a split second and drain any account. I would agree that having a 2 -4 pip sl is very extreme, but when you look at engulfs on lower tf, a true reversal leaves no tail. Meaning even a 2-4 sl would be safe, but of course getting into that very candl...

A valuable post would be on " how to actually profit in forex". Everything you've mentioned is rather inspirational. Yet, inspiration doesn't cause accounts to increase in value. Many people don't have public accounts, because their stats aren't worth posting.
