Hi, amazing results with SFX here. Everyone else (me included) turned them off for now. I see you are running those three pairs, but for me the last two were constant losers. What do you mean by nursing ;-)What is the logic behind the 30 minutes wait?Cheers

I have received this email from the developers of another EA I use.It would appear the new build of MT4 could cause problems on ALL EAs. Not sure if it could cause problems to Tomsea too.Ivan?

On the topic of manual intervention, here is my 2 cents. As I stated before, I see running a trading account just like running any other business. Your VPS are the premises, any EAs you run are your employees and the products you buy and sell are the different currency pairs. It would, of course, be very good to have a business that runs 100% of the time without owner intervention but in my experience, I have not yet come across one🙄Sure. If you put 100k on a 500:1 account with a small risk level you can leave and forget and get on with your life. In ten years you will be fine. You will...

Forgive for pitching in. If I understood right, lot sizes and risk calculations are the same from $100.00 to $10,000. Therefore 0.01 starting lot will be the same for everyone up to 10k. Above 10k and beyond, lot sizes change. Therefore, if you have a $2000 account it will not behave any different to a $9000 account in terms or real lot sizes and real dollar amounts. When the 9k account has a 1k DD, so will the 2k account. Same. However, with a 2k account, you will run out of margin much sooner than the 9k. Hence the recommendation to have higher leverage with smaller account.Basically if you do...

A suggestion would be to take advantage of this decline to close some positions in profit. The decline will most likely continue and all will be well, but for those that want to sleep tonight :-) you might want to close out a few of the big 0.21 at a profit now.If it goes back north at least the exposure is lower than it would. Mine is deactivated for the time being.I took this opportunity to close nearly everything that is 0.15 or bigger on all accounts @ profit. (GBPUSD)

When we say that there is no support, have we tried emailing? I know it sucks that the forum has gone and there does not seem to be any live support but Ivan is normally quick with emails. For those on UK spreadbetting (and maybe other brokers) if you open a hedge, your margin available will jump by several hundred's % and protect you from further up moves. Of course, you might lose some money on the hedging position but you may stay in the game long enough for the reversal to take place.

Sorry chris, is nor IF but WHEN. I know I have lost money hedging before but this rally is unstoppable. I regret not having taken minor losses a few days ago. I was very tempted and I could have gone away with a small %.Well , what do you know. Hedging on the way up is all I can think of to manage this.We are @ resistance now and if it breaks through, I don't have anything else to stop it until about 1.6120

Sounds good. What you mean is you have stopped the EA and added a 15p trailing stop to your existing large positions? As far as I can see, at this stage the EA is not managing anything anymore, we have passed that point. Is not moving the TP higher, it does not seem to add anymore after the 2nd 0.21 and is just hoping for a reversal. It is just hedging 0.01 on the way up. Do you think the way forward is to manually manage what we have and limit losses?

Tell me about it. I am ok with DD levels as EURUSD is no longer a problem and my charts are deactivated but I will be happy to see the back of this GBPUSD.....

That is right. Be careful with GKFX's support as quality information comes only at the right time in the day. It would appear that evenings, weekends, nights, lunch breaks etc, are NOT the right times to talk to support.

It has been fixed, I now have 2008 and no problems. What I meant above is that if anyone is using 2003, it would be better if they kept as a rule to log in from one place as I kept forgetting to log out safely, expecially from the phone. 😕

On the topic of Risk Levels, equity and account sizes, I wanted to throw in my 2 cents.I am not a believer of employing large capital (ie 10k each pair @ RL1 as mentioned somewhere) just to make sure that in the event of a rally there is enough money to cover for a 5,000 pip run. This is because for the majority of the time markets will be ranging and all that money will not be used. It will not be working for you. Expecially with leverage of around 400:1 there is no need for so much money. Probably the rule of RL8 for 10/12k is a balanced view. IMO what is important is that extra money is ava...

Flopps, you are right. I was having big problems when I had a VPS with WS2003. I was logging in from multiple locations and, although I never got double trades, I would close an MT4 instance under one log in only to find that it was still open and trading on the next. It beats me but my advice is if you are still using WS2003, make sure you always log in from the same place :-)
