Trade it up too the news or after,I trade stocks if they get whacked more than 10% or increase more than 10% on news,I use saddle trades sometimes as well.It would be insane to have a naked trade on the exact minute of data release.
Tips and tricks!

Some times it takes time for the spread to adjust,if its some unknown company it can take longer,I've traded stocks where the spread changed the day after I made a profit. So many financial products they don't keep an eye on everything :)

That's because it has the same effect on the brain as coke. This is true until you learn to control your emotions or at least suppress that high.

Do you think that people in this game are straight and honest, lol. There is a list of cases where journalists have leaked news to traders before the news has got to "us",the Fed was under investigation for news being leaked in April 2013 ,Medley Global you can search it.It's pretty long though.😉

Well guys as I expected no agreement on the oil front yesterday,it was a long shot to expect a cut back or freeze with Iran playing their own game on the outside of the circle,I didn't trade it but I was following the news over the last few weeks.I'm sure the experienced oil traders on here did well yesterday/today.I like to get a full picture of what's happening in the markets not just a narrow view. That's the whole point of morning meetings.

You never seen a move long before any announcement? Its already baked in to the price sometimes,so you can't say its nonsense,if the market agrees with Draghi it moves more in the same direction,if not you might get a a short bounce, because the market guessed wrong.Traders covering their loses.Sentiment will play out then eventually technical comes back into play,Trading basics 101.

Trade what you feel comfortable with,if that's daily or weekly. If you feel anxious you are doing something wrong, too big a position, too much risk, not knowledgeable of the product etc.

You can use spikes to your advantage, for instance an extreme downside or upside on a news event, its no guarantee of a reversal but increases the odds in your favour. The random spikes is usually major investor doing an opposite play.

If I was trading Gold the only time I would have bought was back in Jan,I'm sure you know how much its costs to mine, some will say Ah its easy to say after the event, come on guys 1062 on Jan 3rd that's a no brainer. Why did we just touch 1260 today and reverse, because everyone who's trading Gold expects it to.

I'm sure you already know it has little to do with a break above a certain price, its risky earnings season in play,Interest rates to stay low, dollar weakness,it's a flight to safety for now.Six week strike on the excise duty on gold in India .The start of earnings season might be a good time to buy but that's not a tip!

I trade Eur/Usd all the time, but here's what they like to trade at Barclays Eur,Usd,Jpy,Aud and Cad,its what I was taught too.It depends on spread as well, does it have a positive return over a set time period.I would run a portfolio on Stocks not Forex, but that's a personal choice.Best of Luck!
