(RTTNews) - The Labor Department will release U.S. jobs data for April at 8:30 am ET Friday. Ahead of the data, the greenback traded mixed against its major counterparts. While it was steady against the franc, it rose against the rest of major rivals.

The greenback was worth 134.25 against the yen, 1.1010 against the euro, 1.2597 against the pound and 0.8934 against the franc as of 8:25 am ET.
