Unfortunately, LUX has also received false signals. During trades on 22-23 October, it achieved a dramatic result (not yet visible here, but on PAMM). I am eager to hear any kind of explanation about it, how it happened, and whether it can be prevented in the future.

Glad it's working for you too now. I'm doing something similar, with ProcessAlive, so that effectively fixes the crashing problem. My main issue at the moment is the lot size it uses: it's about 10 times smaller than when I was using the copier. Weird. I asked whether it could be a bug, but he suggested to simply raise the risk. That would mean putting it on 1.0 instead of 0.1 though, which feels wrong. I think I'll just leave it running a bit and perhaps just go for a fixed lot size (trying to calculate the risk myself) if it keeps using tiny lot sizes.

It's a copier. But upon request, you can get the decision maker itself (which is more complicated to set up, and currently has an crashing issue with MetaTrader 4 build 500).

Here's an interesting little tool I just started using: ProcessAlive. It automatically restarts MT4 after it crashes. (or any other program you want to keep running)http://singularlabs.com/community/topic/processalive-automatically-restart-crashed-programs/Test it by simply closing MT4 to make sure it works.

He did answer to me, perhaps you didn't wait long enough yet :)Supposedly the problem is largely due to build 500 being incompatible with a piece in the EA that is provided by a third party. So he's talking with them now to get that fixed, in order to get his own EA fixed.

Hmm... when I logged onto my VPS just now, I saw that MT4 was no longer running. After restarting it, only two out of the five charts still had the EA attached. I guess something -is- wrong here... I went into the logs folder and saw a new crash folder, but nothing was in it. Possibly because it got cleared after restarting MT4, so next time it happens, I'll check that folder before restarting. I could however see that the folder was created about 8 hours ago, so I guess that's when it crashed... (which is strange because that's before I made my previous post here, and I checked my...

I am currently using MT4 build 500, the one provided by VantageFX. It's running on a Crucial Cloud VPS (in order to be close to the Australian server that my account is on).

Strange... I've started using the Spike EA this week on 5 charts/currencies as well (as soon as the markets came up), and haven't had anything resembling crashes yet. It also hasn't placed anytrades yet though, as we're only a few days into the week; I'll come report when it does :) (or if anything else happens)

Except of course if you optimize your setup. That's what I did (VantageFX account with a new VPS close by), and I am now getting the same trades as this account. Sure, I didn't have an account yet with them so it was all new, but who cares? If it allows me to get the same results, I'll be a very happy customer. :)

William has mentioned it's not possible to backtest this system, which as far as I understand is because it gets its trading signals from a server. So this myfxbook account is probably the only historical data we can go from.

After 3 months, I was about 5% up with Forex Thor II. Now after 5 months, I am 45% down. The trend on my account just keeps going, strongly down since the start of February. With the very same broker and same account type, I am running MegaDroid, PipJet and PipSonic with good results. ICMarkets has very low spreads, and their order execution is not bad. But I think the slippage problem is inherent to how these algorithms work. They react to sudden large price movements, right? Hi Alexander, thank you for your detailed answer. I have lowered my risk per trade, but am confused about why my order execution would experience slippage. I am using IC Markets, which offers 'true ECN', and am using a VPS at BeeksFX which offers a 1ms latency to ICMarket's trade servers (when I ping, it's 2ms). Can't really imagine anything better than that. But when I check the messages that Thor II places in the logs, I do indeed occasionally see long execution times... mostly 500-900, but also a few higher than 1000ms (in rare cases as high as 1600-2200). MaxSpreadInPip...
