Got caught in the non-farm payroll release today. Could have gone either way but it didn't go too bad. I think I need to add a news filter to prevent new trades being created during the news releases.

I am stopping this test due to the aforementioned problem with lot sizes on MB Trading's platform.I am now testing on FXOpen and will add that account.
Is there anyone willing to share their Money Management strategy?

Midas is a grid martingale system. You have to be lucky when you start it. I've tried it and it damn near wiped a £5000 account and even then it was not giving the kind of returns that this account got. Even Midas themselves admit this account was a lucky break and lots of others they started have wiped. This is not high risk - high gain.It's gambling.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, I'm actually already running it live on a $1000 account at Jade FX.I don't like their overnight rates though, a little pricey for an EA that can potentially be in trades for a while.I did think about GoMarkets at one stage but I head they were having problems with their execution speeds

Thanks Soeren,I anticipate far more than 30% per month. Earlier today before the rogue AudJpy trades kicked in it was around the 100% per month mark and it's still alpha stage , there's a lot I can do to improve it yet.I'll take a look at instaforex but those spreads aren't the best. I'm really looking for the best ECN spreads I can get in order to feed my Dukascopy account with trades.

Just realised I had the wrong settings on AudJpy.Doh!And also discovered a bug in my alpha version - fixed though now. I've also discovered that MB trading have a bug in their lot recording on the account summary. Has anyone else come across this? It does not seem to record the full number of lots closed. As it's potentially doing several closures due to being an ECN, my guess is they aren't summing the total lots but are instead recording the lot size of the first closure. I've told them about it and they say "Refresh the platform" - which doesn't help much when ...

Why do you have to equate high gain with high risk?Why not aim for low risk, high gain?

I was going to leave this to run a little longer before making it public but what the hell.This is Behemoth running on eight pairs on MB Trading.This will be offered as a subscription tipster service once it has had enough history to prove it's efficacy.The software is still in alpha stage but is moving into beta release shortly.You need to be signed up to my blog for updates.

Interesting, good post Elkart.I know that with Cast Iron Man the profit seems to go in cycles and this approach would definitely have paid off.

I stake a certain percentage of capital per trade ( based on the pip value and the stop loss I am using ).I generally set this between 1% and 5% depending on the strategy. I generally look at the figures using Kelly Criterion to decide the actual percentage. The higher Kelly is the more I will lean towards 5%, the lower the nearer to 1%.I also take into account the number of trades per day. The more possible losses I might suffer in a day the more I will scale closer to 1%. It's not nice to come out of a day 25% down.

So true, most people never get to grips with the core psychology behind trading.Always looking around for the system that never loses, when all they really need is a risk/reward ratio that works with the hit rate.I'd much rather have a system that is right about half the time but makes more when it wins than a system that is right 95% of the time but take half your profits when it's wrong!

Actually the guy I spoke to has lost a lot, I nearly had a heart attack when he told me how much. Mainly I think because he over leveraged. It's quite common in the mirror signal provider world. Investors just see dollar signs. They stick a load of different systems on there and the equity curve tells them that they will be a millionaire by teatime and so they decide to go with it.Unfortunately, it's generally the case that the people who can't trade, don't understand lot sizes, leverage or drawdown are the ones that end up using signal provider services. Not if you know the conventional fin arrangements of fish.It's interesting you should raise these issues Elkart. I've been contacted today by one of my subscribers and he's complained about some trades that aren't correct. I've investigated his account and there are about five trades that have not closed out when my feeder account has closed the trades. I have asked Tradency to investigate but it's looking as though maybe they do have some issues with trade management.
