Craneliu,The problem I had was that when I logged on to check VPS status sometimes I would find that all three MT4 were not running! I could access the server ok, always could, but the MT4 platforms were just not running and I had to restart them myself.I blamed it on Ultrahosting as it is highly unlikely that all three would fails at the same time but they insisted they did not have server restarts during the times of my issues. I also thought it copuld be Tom's EA as it is the only EA running on all three accounts. Unlikely though, as I find it odd to think that it would actually close t...

fxnewswatch, with "no interruptions" I meant that I did not switch the EA off, did not close any pairs and I did not reduce risk. I have in fact left all accounts running throughout the holidays as normal. I thought this may be helpful to people that are thinking "what if"and to you if you wanted to compare EURJPY DD levels.I did, however experienced some problems with my VPS in the last few days, although I do not think that fact has affected my EURJPY DD levels.Thanks

Chrissav,Thanks for the reply. I am aware of their week-end maintenance and I do the same as you. But all this happens during normal market hours. It has never happened before the holidays. I am somewhat inclined to think that it is a VPS issue.How many MT4 are you running on your VPS?

My DD in EURJPY is negligible on all my accounts (2 live and 1 demo) I am still at the first stage (3 trades of 0.01) and have not yet reached the 0.03 position.All my accounts were running regularly over the holidays with no interruptions.

Hi all ( Ivan, Dustin etc included if you can :-)I am experiencing a problem since the beginning of the year.I am running 3 MT4 instances on a VPS (Ultrahosting), 2 live accounts and a demo. The only thing all these accounts have in common is Tom's EA is running on them. Since the 2nd January, on a daily basis, all my MT4 turn off and stop running! You can imagine! I then have (when I notice) log in and restart the software.My guess has so far been that my server had been restarted without telling me and I have emailed support on every instance. Just to clarify that I do not sell or promote anything...just trade.I share a live account on myfxbook running 3EAs of which Tom's is the main one. The account has magic numbers and trade hystory enabled so anyone can use custom analysis and have a look at each of them.Don't forget it is a spreadbetting account, therefore you have to divide the lot size by 10 (when it shows 0.10 is actually 0.01)If anyone has any question, if I can help i will.

fxnewswatch, The answer is yes from me, I will be running the EA, although I will reduce risk. Please note though that I also have a breakout EA and a scalper running on this account. 3EAs in total. I also agree with fughe on the dangers (again, it seems! :-).Here is why and how:The majority of my DD is EURUSD and I feel the other two EAs (expecially the breakout) should help to compensate the DD. In addition to that I will attempt to hedge from a violent move down by placing a stop sell manual order below the recent lows on EURUSD, sizing the position according to my open positions on Tom'...

I agree.The only reason I personally would close out trades is if my DD limit was reached and I believed no reversal in sight.What would be welcome is a feature to allow the blocking of new trades while still managing the open ones. The topic is being discussed in the member's area.

Forgot the last bit.....This gives me the confidence that Tom's will recover from the DD, (mine is not a major one, still below 10%) even though fughe is right when he says that during these light volume holiday times technical analysis is less reliable than it normally would.

Hi all,In this DD times, and as I have some time on my hands :-) I thought I would share some charts with you. When DD gets a bit much, I normally look at the longer term picture and decide where I feel the DD will move from here on. I feel that Tom's EA should be left alone to deal with DD and I should not normally interfere by closing trades manually. Paul, I settled tonight with 8.5% DD.If it is of any consolation, EURUSD appears to be extremely oversold on several timeframes and there are some bullish divergences creeping in. Is flirting with January lows and possibly duly due for a pullback. Hopefully anytime soon. My current EA's TP target is "only" 1.3137 which is well before even the first of the fibonacci retracements so I think that, short of Merkel invading Poland :-) we should have a good week end. :-)
