NAV update. As per 2009 nov 28, 14:53 CET, NAV is 4076.91(NAV consists of balance plus value of open positions. System is using euros as system currency)volatility in gold , silver and usd was just a little bit too high for system5 to cope, however the amount of usd covering the system had to do, to stay within limits were small, so the system ended up with profits anyway for the week.

System Change.System8 has bene instructed to include INR and THB in the basket. These were already there but the spreads the system was required to see before taking positions was so narrow that oanda never got down to that spread level. The new spread requirement should enable the system to sell USD/INR and USD/THB when spreads are at their lowest at oanda. Right now the system have a NAV of 5340 and it is only 17 euros from the level where it will begin to add to positions. hi hazar. shortterm trading of gold is hazardous due to several factors.1) The spread is very high compared to most other currencies, You need to do much better than with other currencies just to break even2) Gold tends to move further than other currencies in both directions. I must admit i did not think i had a performance so strong that $100 invested at inception would turn into a $2299 balance as of now. I will try to look into the matter and see if that is in fact the case. It does seem very odd that almost all the gain happened the same day - a day where i also transferred money out of the account. However, i cannot rule out the possibillity of having had huge unrealized profits before the withdrawal, and then closed lots of profitable positions to make cash for the withdrawal. If that is the case, my system4 have behaved much better than i thought. I would...

sort systems by abs.gain instead of Gain, because gain can be manipulated by withdrawals and depositsThe percentage gain number used with sorting systems in the system page is the one that can be manipulated (intentionally or not) by adding and withdrawing funds. yea' i took out half the money of the account of system4 to fund system5 which is a little less agressive than system4. That at least is the cause of most of the withdrawals from system4. I also take out money from time to time to pay for oanda API. and of course i put in money too, from time to time. You should be able to see it all on the system's page, i have allowed myfxbook to report everything that can be reported.

When considering a system, You will have to pay attention to these things :1) if it says DEMO it is of course not traded in the real market. Lots of ways to create unrealistic returns on demo accountsif it says REAL, then the data is from a system that was traded at a broker (most likely into a realistic market)2) The balance growth is what you see. When you open an order, but don't close it, you will have unrealized profits or losses, these are not shown. A system that opens one trade in each direction, and only closes the profitable ones at say 10 pips will have a growing balance, but...
