Setting a limit on the amount of trades we place in a day helps with controlling emotion or if we cut down risk with each trade 3%,1.5,0.75, emotion is telling us that we are not in the right mindset or risking too much ,emotion can be an asset sometimes especially for contra traders ,you should feel relaxed about each trade ,stop loss is there for a reason.

News for Forex is almost instant for everyone ,news for shares could have been discussed weeks ago at a board meeting in private ,currency is bought and sold for many different reasons many times in one day, some reasons would surprise you , both can be very profitable but stocks lead the way in say a Bull market ,sometimes though FX does have Super Trends but not often ,day trading FX can be profitable if you manage risk,Stocks are driven mostly by speculation , FX is not.

I was looking at Oanda unfortunately they don't do US stocks and MT5 looks so out of date ,I guess I was spoiled on Bloomberg platform .

Some times I noticed customers complaining about lag in pricing and slippage with real ,disconnections from provider server ,even when we could confirm full connection from client side , plus I know from experience they route the live trades faster.I see your using Oanda hows that working out.

Welcome to 2020 TradersSome targets/goals that you could achieve in the year ahead and make your account more profitable or at least stop bad habits. What is a realistic % gain for a new account ,how about starting with break even for those that are struggling20% in your first year is an amazing achievement but as we know most new traders want to get rich fast Risking huge amounts of capital to be right If you want to make money you have to think long term steady returns with low risk This is a business not a gameWhat is your goals for 2020 ,make them realistic and stick to them.

With some basic training we can mitigate most of the risk and therefore keep emotional swing to a minimumMost difficulties are recoverable as for" unforeseen events", usually around major data or unpeggingThere are ways to keep that to a minimum. If you have fear or excitement about a trade you probably shouldn't be in that trade because it blinds your judgement Better to go do something else Have a goal but don't set it too high so that it's achievable, otherwise you will feel discouraged and make stupid mistakes

When I first started out ,Trading the Market was a minefield so don't be put off it gets easier"Hold The Line"!Not tips but your manifesto! Trade with what you can afford to lose especially if you're new to this game If you can get educated in this field by a professional do soDon't waste your time reading books about FX ,those strategies are past historyYour stop loss is what keeps you safe to fight another battle if you get it wrong"How much can I lose", should be your first thought when you see a tradeTake advantage of major events ,do not trade if you are ...

Yes this is mostly true unless we have some new event which sets a new range, fx pairs have an upper and lower limit for the month mostly so banks can set rates.

If you are going to use high leverage focus on small moves otherwise you can get whipped Small Leverage for big moves won't kill your account in a portfolio to balance it out over time.Always be aware FX can test new lows.
