How to improve the odds in trading

No I haven't. But you seem like a smart fella. You really think anyone would sell an EA or a manual system that performs really well? Wouldn't they more likely setup a MAM/PAMM account. I subscribe to certain youtube "FOREX experts". I'm a little disturbed, I love to hate em. I don't know, I seem to get a kick from listening to them. They are almost all con men selling systems or robots. Lately, one particular fella is selling an EA for $2500. His done a whole heap of funky videos showing how good this EA is. I mean I wanted to buy it (just kidding, but these guys ar...

Hey JCThx, but it's still early days, 6 months is not a large sample, nevertheless it is a sample. If it can maintain those stats for a year, 2 years, 3 etc, well I won't complain. But it's a big "If". All I can do is just let the EA do it's thing and see what it's like in another 6 months. My backtesting showed long periods of stagnation, 2-3 months of stagnation is common, the worst was in 2008 which had 6 months. Live trading is also giving me these long periods of stagnation but it's just part of my system. I've tried everything possible to increase th...

Hey JCI don't think anyone in this thread is arguing or being belligerent, but rather as yourself just giving opinions. I'm sure like everyone else, I wish you well and hope you achieve your quest. Unfortunately in FOREX, forward testing is governed by time. Would be nice to forward test a system for 1 year in 1 week, but the reality is that to forward test a system for 1 year, it actually takes 1 year and of course it also needs a fair sample size of volume. Your results are great for a month, but it's just a month. Your trading strategy goes against all the mathematical probabili...

Maybe it's just me, but whenever I see a system with a negative R:R ratio, it always has huge drawdown. If it's a small sample maybe it hasn't had one yet, but eventually it will happen. Yes, agree some of the returns of these systems are phenomenal, but the drawdown is a worry. Not a problem when trading a small account and you're prepared to lose it all, eg 1K, you get a 50%+ drawdown, you think " Ahh what the heck leave it and lets' see what happens", try doing that with something more substantial. Say 50K or 100K

Ok to each their own, but I don't give any credence to demos except to see if the strategy is viable. If it can't profit in demo then it surely won't profit with real.Good trading to ya.

1. System/strategy/accounts ... are trading on which broker (how long broker operate/how big broker/reputable broker or not)?Agree2. System/strategy/accounts... are trading by an organization/company they must trade on a variety of different brokers. This prevents someone wants to 'showing off' a perfect performance.Agree3. Must be open most of the state especially history (which may cover open/pending orders) on accounts which show a transparent. Folk have a saying: 'Good showing off, bad cover'.Disagree. If account is verified with a reputable broker, history is not necessary...
5% average monthly profit for at least 2 years (with less than 25% max. DD)

I think 5% is extremely conservative, albeit I too don't like DD, but the whole idea of trading FOREX, Futures, options or any other highly leveraged instrument is to have higher than average returns and higher DDs are part of the package. Otherwise why trade these instruments? Better off trading less leveraged instruments, blue chip stocks for eg. Personally I could accept as high as 20% (as long as the return is worth it) but would find it hard to sleep. 10% to 15% would be a lot more comfortable. 5% DD with exceptional returns, well that would be heaven.

Very impressive results. Well done, but I better mention to all in case they miss it, the system has a custom start date filter. The drawdown is actually 36%.

I suppose DD is relative to your risk tolerance and the amount money traded relative to what you can afford to lose. If for EG, you can afford to lose 5k without it really affecting your life then you could easily trade that 5K into a high risk high DD system. 30% 40% 50% DD no big deal. Now the flip side is the amount of money that would affect your lifestyle. Eg lets say 100K, You think you could tolerate a 30%, 40% 50% DD? Many of these systems that have incredible gains with high DD usually have small amounts of money. Can they turn that $250 into 100K? Maybe if they're lucky enough, I ...

You would think myfxbook would have some standard for brokers. Surely it couldn't be that difficult to filter out the sketchy brokers. Well you can like your losers as much as you like, I hate em, the more I hate them, the more incentive I have to try and avoid them.

Is it just me? but when there is a system that performs exceptionally well, incredible stats, incredible returns, incredible drawdown, account/privileges confirmed etc, but then when you look at the broker it's some obscure "dodgy" broker. I didn't even check www.gibico.com/ as my virus protection software warned me not to open the site.

Is that request actually possible? If someone actually had such a system that gave that performance, wouldn't they have found the "holy grail"?

Agree with forexpipcatcha, to early to come to any conclusions. Unless you have a reasonable sample size (agree subjective) but nevertheless, until there is a larger sample size no definitive conclusions can be made, but if those stats can be maintained on a real account then you'll soon be buying out Apple Corp. Always nice to see average win higher than average loss, a stat that I think is crucial for long term success.
Is it easy to make 100% monthly profit for any size of account balance?

The gambler will take $1000 and try and make $1000 (100%) in one hit and the probability of being wiped out is extremely high. The professional will take the same $1000 and try and make $20 50 times and still make $1000 (100%). Sure it will take longer and there will be some ups and downs but the probability of making the 1k slowly and incrementally means being wiped out is extremely low.
Total account drawdown.

The drawdown is correct. If account started with 1,000 and had a peak of 1,996 (99.65%) and now it shows 1,516 (51.65%) then the drawdown from approx 2k to 1.5k is 25%

It is sad. I thought this robot looked really good after a couple of months, but wanted to monitor it a bit longer. Good lesson for us all, don't even consider purchasing any robot without a longer term live test, although this is just a demo it still has revealed the short comings of this system. Even if it recovers from here, it will only be a matter of time before it gets wiped out.

Evidence for what? I've given my personal details to myfxbook, I'm not selling anything on this site, why should I give you my personal details?I could ask the same from you. "Prove to me that you don't work for any other FOREX broker" and that you're not in this thread just to cast dispersions on Pepperstone?" C'mon, show me the evidence that you're not working for any other broker, and I mean all brokers, PROVE IT!!!!My post is the evidence.
