If you send sPhantom a request, they will send you a customizable version to set whatever SL your comfortable with. I dont tust "Emergency Stoplosses". The vendor will only reply on this site to technical questions about the EA, not about their strategy. I'm also running an older version of Toms EA: " Anubis-Toms EA v1.95 " on myfxbook. It's an interesting EA.

redliner: Also, I have the modified version with SL at 100, and risk at 30 to see what happens.

Well Guys, took the EA offline. Also closed the account with Traders Way (thinking of changing brokers anyway). Since some EA's have a hard time with large balances, going to run this one on demo with a small balance. Doubt if it will make any difference since the EA itself is not balance oriented. We'll see. I believe the EA itself is not to blame for last weeks big loss. It was whoever pulled the switch at the other end to open such a badly timed trade to begin with. Like the old saying goes "Rule number one: Don't trade the news. Rule number two: Refer to Rule number one&qu...

Hey Guys. If any are considering Wally (Wallstreet Forex Robot), check out the autotrade section on this site. There are 2 systems running. If you decide to climb on board, don't need to purchase EA, and don't need to purchase a VPS. I'm currently demo-ing the 2 Wally systems. To sphantom: We had faith in you guys. Why you decided to trade the way you did, we don't know. But with the number of systems you sold at $300 a pop, and no response to inquires, well I guess you've made your $$. Time for some of us to move on.

Funny how things can snowball. Began with FOMC yesterday. Everyone knew the cutback on bond purchases by the fed would continue. But the unemployment numbers came in this morning significantly worse than expected, along with bad advance gdp and bad home sales, added fuel to this fire. I had pulled out of this trade early on, 9:45 am yesterday, prior to FOMC statement. At first, I thought I'd made a mistake. The EA was working great, but I agree the R:R is a little too much for me. Think I'll give this one a rest too. Maybe reactivate in a few weeks. Want to see how all the smoke clea...

Well, unemployment numbers and Advance gdp q/q came in. Not good for USD, so this trade might turn around for you.

Think I'll take the advice jan222. Just started a demo for AXItrader. We'll see how it pans out. I may make a move. Linked to: "Anubis - AxiTrader Autotrade Demo" on myfxbook. Thanks.

Whew!! Glad I got out of this one yesterday. sPhantom will not discuss their strategy. Only technical support for the EA itself. But from what I've seen, since new announcements are a major part of "Fundamental" strategy, the strategy used seems to be almost purely technical (charts, indicators, etc.) The trade prior to this, it closed exactly on the 61.8 fib line, which tells me Fibonacci trading is part of the strategy. I hate to think sPhantom is in it's dying days. Its been good so far. 😕

If any system makes me a few bucks, then blows my account, I will not be a happy camper. Although I agree that one should not trade with the rent money; fact is, money is still money. There is no such thing as a 'set it and forget it' EA. All EA's, including this one, should be part of a traders overall strategy, but not the whole strategy itself. sPhantom has been an excellent tool, but should be one of several. Some of us don't have any problem trading the news; some do. In the final analysis, it's the individual trader himself, and not any EA, that has a final say in a t...

Confession--I closed the trade about 20 minutes before FOMC, for a small profit. I don't like trading news!!

Once it hit the 61.8 fib line of support, it closed for profit.

This is weird. The time duration of the last 2 trades on the vendors acct and mine are the same. But there's closed at a gain of 14.96, and mine closed at a loss of -18.14. They are trading .44 lot, I traded .22 lot. Seems mine should have closed at a gain of about 8.00. Wonder what happened. Any ideas, or anyone else have the same thing? Up until now, my trades have been the same as theirs.

I'm quite satisfied with this EA and the traders behind it so far. My only concern is trading so close before or after major news announcements; and that's only happened twice since I've been using it. Bernanke speech once, Draghi speech once. 😄

I emailed the vendor and asked if they had considered adding a trailing stop feature to the EA. Answer was no, not at this time. I really think it would be a pretty good idea. Lock in those first 10 pips, and let it run!

See my post on #29 in regards to the response I got from the vendor on taking a trade so close to a major news announcement.

By the way, the next major news event to effect the pair is next thurs. 8:30 am est, unemployment claims, USD, as listed on Forex Factory. But Bernanke or Draghi can announce a speech anytime. Forex Factory stays up to date on upcoming news events.

Think I'll disable EA at times when either Bernanke or Dragi speaks. Last October, Draghi made a speech and indicated that one of the tools in the ECB's arsenal was "negative interest rates". The euro shed 300 pips within an hour. I was using a basket trader at the time (Toms EA), and on a $2300 acct., it hit -$1800. It did eventually pull out and close for profit, but for almost 2 weeks, I was sweating it!! Learned my lesson that time!
