Don't need to use martingale, its only one of many options. I personally don't use it. However, the x3 retrace is pretty good with some modifications to default setting.

MIII you do know you can change the settings so you don't have lot multipliers? So if you don't want to accept the risks of martingaling or grid system, you take two or three seconds to change the settings so it doesn't use this function. Set lot multiplier to 1, this will keep your settings so it doesn't martingale. And number of trades to 1, and pip step multipliers to 1. It doesn't recognize virtual trades running in the background on the back test. It would still be speculative because of this feature. I would be cautious with the results.

Okay guys, if you every talk to Steve, he explains his trading method. HE, not US, has many live accounts. HE sets them for 100% DD. ForexFlex cannot be back tested because of the virtual trade function which doesn't work on back tests. All back test results would produce inaccurate results pro/con for the EA. Forward testing is okay if you don't change strategies during the test. But if you change your settings you pretty much invalidate your forward test. I recommend any forward testing to run a week. Short term doesn't really give you a good picture of how your strategy is working out, because market conditions can greatly influence profit results over a period of time. Hi guys. Don't go with default settings unless you are using the same multi-account strategy that Steve uses. Overall he gets more profit because despite some of his accounts going bust, the ones that make money far exceed his losses, in gains. He's using real money accounts too, not demo accounts like many so called "Grail EAs."You need to change your settings to reflect a single account with more conservative risk. Hi all, be sure to set your risk levels (drawdown settings, lot size, stop losses to what you are comfortable with). Steve's overall trading strategy incorporates the fact that he has many live accounts, so he accepts that one or two may bust, in return for high gains on the remaining accounts.Unless you have multiple accounts trading as he does, you will need more conservative settings. I've been doing good with my settings and happy with a 1% average daily return.

Hi Pablo51, if this was recent behavior (new version 3.33) and you are using the TrendSurfer, it is because of a new feature Steve added to the EA:"Added a new feature called TrendHybrid which is a toggle on/off mode. When toggled on and used with TrendSurfer it will make Flex open its additional orders when the price moves both in favor of the previous trade by +21 pips, or against the previous trade by -21 pips. Here is the reply from Steve on the issue of the 12/12 display extra orders when you choose 5/5 max charts. I turns out that this is an internal setting which sets default number of max buy/sells depending on the strategy you choose (in this case, TrendSurfer users max of 12/12 which it changes to when you set default of 5/5).
