Great suggestions, but you see, those are not "best practices" that brokers (sponsors) are encouraging. :) The question you should be asking yourself is : How do brokers make money ?

1. track record and trading privileges are not verified. 2. over leveraged3. risk reward ration inverted, possibly got some martingale system running4. taking too many trades

If correlation is your concern, you should look up a correlation table (eg : http://www.forexticket.co.uk/en/tools/01-01-correlation) before making a decision on what pairs to trade.

Thanks for the vote of confidence David. :0) Only time will tell if it works out, and yes, I do trade trends. The markets have not been very favourable of late, so I've been standing aside. Anyway, its expected to not be trading for such a long stretch. All I need are that 2-3 big moves a year for the system to succeed. Do take the time to come back once in a while to see how its performing. -LK

Good writing. :) However, seeing as its very well written, giving an example of a regular 20% a month profits may give the impression that its something for traders to work towards. Just saying... :)

I trade the dailies, and I quite enjoy it now. My stops per trade are bigger than what most scalpers would make in a week. I just adjust the lot sizes to compensate. It will take some people a while to get there, while others never want to / never do. But, what I do like is that it gives me time to work on the accounts I manage, and also the finer things in life. :0)

Thats probably a good thing Bruce! But unless you have trades already looking, and you have a pre-determined exit, you would probably not want to look at the markets too often either. It screws with your mind ! hahaha -LK

I've never personally used dukascopy, but did like the idea of the custodian service. Is the java platform really that bad ? I thought I read that they did have some MT4 bridge that allows a copy of the original Metaquotes platform to send orders to their system. Not sure if thats true. Oh well... I can probably find out if / when I get that USD250K to get the service :0) -LK

IMHO, thats quite a lot to be looking at, especially when you're trading on such a small time frame. Are you looking to have confluence for your trades, or are you looking at which one works the best for you? I'm guessing all these different indicators are giving you conflicting signals. I personally trade with only 1 indicator, but the 5/20 ma cross suggested earlier is also a gem.-LK

I'm not saying that you can't / won't worry, it will happen, but the important thing is not to act on those worries. Act instead on your trading plan. :0)

Have a look at Custodian Bank Services provided at Dukascopy. It seems as the funds are held at banks (your choice of 7 banks) in trust (not segregated accounts). Deposit accounts in Switzerland are insured to CHF100,000. These services are reserved only for larger accounts tho'...

There is a lot of talk about trading mentality and I'm inclined to believe its true, but very few are able to practice it. If you've back tested, forward tested, done the statistics and covered all your bases, you'd know that its normal to take a loss. Theres nothing wrong with worrying, and feeling the impulses, but sticking to your guns, and following through your trading plan is essential to getting the results you've seen in the tests (which should be positive, if you're already trading live). You may deviate from the plan, and get luck once, twice and maybe even three ...

I trade manually, and I spend maybe half an hour each day executing my trading plan. Guess its alot easier when I trade daily and weekly charts. Even though I could write my system into an EA, I do feel a lot more comfortable doing everything myself.

Show me a money manager that can do that .... :0) But with that being said, I also only trade manually, but my system doesn't try to predict the market. We just follow it. -LK
