They are probably just holding off on updating the chart until it takes profit on some of these positions it should have open that are in massive DD. It is good marketing to make sure potential clients never see your system in a big DD in realtime. It makes the potential loss seem more real than if it is in the past and they see it has recovered from it. I could be wrong, but i'm probably not.😀

You have described the trading style of every EA ever created, not including the spike part. EAs are literally playing a game of statistics. It requires a human to process enough info to make "informed" decisions about trades. To even approach human capacity, a system would require a mainframe to function.

I make more money trading manually than anything.....hey MetaCoder, let us know what you have experienced with MDP, and you broker and VPS. Maybe we can help you sort it out.

That is correct. If you are trading with a dealing desk broker, you won't have your slippage increased. You will start seeing longer fill times and requotes. You will only see greater slippage with ECN and STP brokers.

I am hoping for it to continue as it has in the past. i am not going to expect it though. This year has seen radical changes in market behavior.

brace for impact. Last half of December coming up. The big funds will be taking profit on positions. This means extended moves that can possibly suck in your MDP trades and keep running....over and over and over. The stop and reverse may not work as well. Plus....lower liquidity WILL be an issue. expect increased slippage.

It will open 19 positions before stopping. The first 3 are equal in size (which everyone already knows). The 19th will be 140 times the size of the first. So....if you start with 0.01 lot, the 19th would be 1.4 lots. At this point, I would like to add....the chance of you getting there is near zero. The market would need to move an estimated -900 pips without a significant pullback. Also...keep in mind....the pullback to TP is a ways above breakeven. So if a person were terrified and felt they had to get out of this set of trades...they will likely have many opportunities to close at breakeven...

Well....my opinion with TEA is....run it at minimum possible risk at all times. Allow 1 pair per $10,000 if you have access to microlots. If you have access to nanolots, you could do this on $1000. Not much profit in it, but it would work safely. I do expect a huge amount of wild moves this month. I do not expect to see any 1000 pip moves without a reasonable pullback. I could be wrong. Of all the EAs I have seen, this one is probably to safest to trade during this time period (IF using proper MM). If I were going to make a recommendation of the pairs to trade....i would still go with my previ...

It all depends on whether or not it already had an open order in the opposing direction, to start. The problem with this is....you are trying to guess the market direction and biasing you opinion on what the market will be doing. Anyone who has a lot of experience trading will tell you (if they are honest 😀) this is a very bad idea and causes lots of bad trades. The proper way to determine market direction is to wait for the market to tell you which way it is going, and then follow it.My recommendation to look for ranging markets is for use with adding a new currency. I was referring t...

My thoughts on pairs to run....I personally recommend running the EURUSD, GBPUSD, USDCAD, and EURGBP in that order. If you can run one, do the EURUSD, if two, add the GBPUSD, etc. Always stay risk 1. The system works, and as I pointed out in a previous discussion, the ONLY way this system will fail is a market collapse. If the collapse is in the EUR, as the fears have been (not going to happen for at least a few more years), then all the EUR associated pairs will hurt you badly unless you close out all opposing positions for a loss and force the EA to only take trades in the direction of the c...

Actually, anything partnered with the USD, EUR, and JPY have a moderate chance of causing a crash. And...technically, since the world is tied to the USD.....If the USD crashes, everything will.

paulrozza's gain would be considered non-standard, as the expected gain is ~10%/month and not 23%/month. I just want to take nessa1's comment about the 'million in 2 years' and put it in perspective for everyone. i am going to use 10% as the base to keep the math simple. In this thought experiment, we are going to say the person started in Nov2011 with a deposit of $10,000. The following are the end of month, closed-trade-account-balance results.Nov2011-$11000Dec2011-$12100Jan2012-$13310Feb2012-$14641Mar2012-$16105.10Apr2012-$17715.61May2012-$19487.17June2012-$21435.88July2012-$...

Just to help expand the understanding a little here, let me address the DD. For most systems that use martingale, the SL just keeps getting bigger and bigger as the trade set runs negative. Dustin explained, in a previous post, something that changes the outlook radically. What Dustin noted was the SL is not set for the group of trades, but for each trade individually. So, if the whole group runs -630 pips before making a serious reversal, ONLY the very first position would be closed at a loss. If the market continued down past the -650 area, then the second position would end up being stopped...

I saw that. I am not entirely certain why you would want to do so with this system. The reason most people lower risk during december is due to erratic price movements and low volume. If this was a normal system that would get stopped out by whipsawing markets....yeah, lowering risk or stopping entirely would be a good idea. As it is, MDP works best with whipsawing movements. That said....the lower trading volume could cause some nightmarish slippage for MDP. Lowering you risk would allow you to get filled eaiser. Just some thoughts.

I will drop the subject. I am tempted to put the old v1.87 on a demo so everyone can see for themselves, but....as you have said, the problem has been fixed. I won't speak of it again.

Just to make sure you understand fully..... If I am not mistaken, every person who has been, or has complained about this EA had a version or if running that had a minimum risk setting of 10% that was hard-coded to risk 1. For some reason, the risk level in previous versions was hard-coded at 10x the current risk levels. I am just telling you because you seem to think that most of the people complaining just don't understand. To understand what all those people where dealing with....take you DD at any point, and multiply it by 10, then take the margin required and multiply it by 10. Subtra...

That is very common before news releases of any sort. Once the news is out, and the market has spiked (or not) the spread will return to normal. Basically nothing to worry about.

That is exactly correct. Reducing risk reduces lot size. The number of trades is a different matter.
