Max risk 1% per trade, NFA FIFO Compliant, 50% win rate - 2:1 R/R applied to all orders to allow for slippage, live account, verified, 5-10 mins a day and no robot making trading decisions, i.e. I pick my own trades based on solid fundamentals. Basically I just wanted to say that Ive done this by simplifying trading, and applying BASIC fundamental analysis when picking each trading pair.... I use no indicators, and no tools other than an app that allows me to place orders ahead of time without...

Hey AllI seem to be having a problem in an account linked from fxcm. The stats box is right, the abs gain is right, the pip count in the monthly graphs is right, but then the actual monthly % is way off ..... and actually shows negative, even though im on the account right now and the profits are there....Is this a formatting issue? Im totally perplexed with this... here is the account:http://www.myfxbook.com/members/BenNathanFTA/managed-client-account-using-fxnewstrader/1215965basically is should look the same as my "Ben Nathan" account as its all the same trades and more or less th...

There are plenty of things out there to help.Bloomberg is a good source of free information to keep in touch. Talking-Forex is decent as they give you daily market wraps. I use a service called Ransquawk more than anything but they are pricey

If you were buying a horse to race, would you buy it for its looks or buy it based on its upbringing, bloodlines, genetics and breed quality?Or buying a company - would you buy it based on its name , or its performance history and investigatory. You won't find a top performing Wall Street trader buying into a stock or currency based purely on a chart pattern, they know why and what caused the pattern .Basically all technical strategies will on many occasions go against the base fundamentals , so trading in line with fundamentals cuts these kind of losses out and greatly increases profitabi...

90% of traders fail... everyone knows it.... but WHY?Most people put it down to psychology, or system chasing etc .... but I propose there's another reason, one that probably applies to most new traders:FUNDAMENTALS....Without Fundamentals you are gambling... trading on the CHANCE that a pattern if traded enough will eventually win.... With Fundamentals you are INVESTING.... there;s a big difference... sure you enter and exit markets technically as you need a consistent method for actually trading, BUT if you do so BASED on fundamentals when choosing a pair you will do far far better! In fa...

Last Week:The main event of last week was the FOMC which was less Dovish than expected and left analysts expecting a rate hike this year - this had led to strength on the USD. Elsewhere we saw some GBP strength in the first 2 thirds of last week following strong GDP figures. On top of this Shells proposed buyout of BP would mean a potential 47 billion pounds hitting the UK economy which is far from being a small deal.It was however dragged down towards the end of the week following uncertainty around the current elections. The EUR also struggled as Greece still expect to run out of money befor...

So true - a trader who ignores the Fundamentals can't succeed in the long term, its that simple.

Regarding Martingale - its taking the roulette red/black theory and applying it to trading... in my early days (about 10 years ago) i spent 6 months taking my first live account from $100 to $600 (admittedly risking too much at the time) using Martingale.... the problem is, once you get stuck in a range you're in a mess.... My start risk % was 1% and i would only trade one pair at a time, and yet I watched Martingale blow the entire account in 4 hours.... Martingale is like a ticking bomb - it lures you into a false sense of security... then one day when you are sitting confident you watch...

http://www.myfxbook.com/members/BenNathanFTA/wwwfxnewstradercouk-daily-trade-alerts-live/1172397 Trading is fundamental based in reasoning with consistent technical entry methods. Nothing fancy, just logical, simple trading. Risk is never above 1%.
AUDUSD - Time to buy it?

Well in terms of trading news there aren't really indicators (in my opinion) that can match human intuition and knowledge. Personally I use a pretty good news feed that gives me the info i need in terms of what moves the markets and the potential repercussions etc. If im scalping some news ie after the AUD - ill just scalp through 1 session (in that case the London session) or until i hear more news that could affect currencies in that pair and turn the move around. I use Ransquawk for everything news related - But it isn't cheap - its £150 a month .

LOL at Owen - well the scalping opps were for yesterday. Im waiting on the FOMC commentary before trading any USD pairs now. I wouldn't be surprised if the "patience" phrasing comes back into play...If that's the case ill be looking to go long on the GBPUSD. the GBP has strengthened a lot today and some institutional analysts are putting it down to Shell buying BP Group (because they may be looking at exchanging currency to GBP to make the purchase) - that's a potential 47billion pounds that could get pumped into the UK which isn't small...

For show? Haha what does that even mean? Lol yeah ok. Well ill leave you up on your pedistall. China ? The AUD reacts to Chinese news but more out of sentiment rather than fundamentals... There's a difference,,, anyway some of us actually do make a full time living from Forex alone and are too busy to get involved in petty little debates so I bid you farewell and wish you the best.

Well my verified profit and the people who scalped the pair after reading the blog say otherwise,,, no offence, but maybe if you'd read the blog you would have seen that the whole idea was to look for short term trades.... May I respectfully suggest that you read through stuff properly before jumping to conclusions and Commenting ? Cheers, Ben Ps. By the way who said anything about the RBA incresing rates? 70% of the market expected a cut and had been selling the Aussie off I'm advance..., when the expected cut didn't happen it was natural that the market started buying back...
