I agree. It was doing exremely well in ranging markets. So "letting" the EA trade before major news was... hmmm... let's say: "risky"... or... 'not too smart"...

I disagree. The SAME EXACT trades were running on SimpleTrader and on Cesar400 Managed accounts. The only difference was the funding of the TWO master accounts.SimpleTrader Master had 700 USD while Managed Master had 1200 USD funding. So it is obvious that -30% SL trigger was hit on the 700 USD funded SimpleTrader Master and it was not on the 1200 USD funded Managed Master.

It seems Cesar 2.1 is much safer. No SL has been triggered in LIVE forward tests and during a 5-year backtest.

Managed "Master Account" had higher funding, so did not hit the -30% "basket close trigger"...

"Cesar400" Master account has not crashed at all... With 0.01 lot/1200 USD it is in -15% DD for the day (at this moment)... Not that bad...Signal account on "SimpleTrader" had much lower funding, which is why it had closed the basket. No problem at all, as DD is only -18% (at this moment) on Master, and we all knew that DD can reach -30%.It seems SimpleTrader signal account had a much smaller funding (about 50% of Cesar400 Master) which is why it had closed the basket already.What is strange that subscribers' trades on "SimpleTrader" have already closed for today, while Master account is still running at tolerable DD...

I agree, the discussed figure is probably closer to 0.1%. And yes, IF someone belongs to that 0.1%, the combination you mentioned ("flexibility of a trader that can read fundamentals and market sentiment + Hard rule of an EA") is probably the best.Not having those "good managers" handy, I am left only with my "bots"...

You are right, IF you can approach live trades (running with large funds) without emotions. Which is EXTREMELY difficult. Which is why numerous "trading psychology" books have been written and trading firms even employ psychologists for their pro traders...Personally I cannot approch LIVE trades (especially with large funds) unemotionally. The usual "fear and greed" kicks in... So I don't even look when the robots trade... "Too scary..."Good for you if you could overcome (or handle) these emotions! Congratulations! You belong to the unique 1%.

I prefer robots like "VIP" does (but maybe for different reasons...)Why?- The robots do not need sleep, they do not get tired and they work 24/5, so I have all the time to enjoy life and my profits.- No emotions, no anxiety, no "fear and greed". I have left ICM for the same reason. The first few months of the "marriage" was fine, but after a while I had a feeling that they had attached "Virtual Plug-Ins" to my account when bad slippage started to appear on my trades in spite of the their "True" ECN spreads... Which seemed to be "for show only".Now I am with another ECN broker for a while with 5 USD/lot r/t fee (offered for min. 10k accounts) and very good executions. The bottom line: it is worth to "shop around".

Personally I don't have good experience with ICM. Their "displayed" spreads are good, but those nice BIDS/ASKS are only "for show" as their fills are really bad.I was not happy with Pepperstone either (I will not go into details about a horrific experience of a 250 pips! slippage from them), but most of the time at least they honored their displayed bid/ask. Sometimes they honored the spreads even "too well", i.e. "swallowing" 100-150 lots blocks without a blip on their BID/ASK, i.e. probably "B booking" most orders.
