South Korea Manufacturing PMI Unchanged At 48.3 - S&P Global

(RTTNews) - The manufacturing sector in South Korea continued to contract in October, and at a steady rate, the latest survey from S&P Global revealed on Friday with a manufacturing PMI score of 48.3.

That's unchanged from September, and it remains beneath the boom-or-bust line of 50 that separates expansion from contraction.

October survey data pointed to a second consecutive monthly fall in the volume of new factory orders received by South Korean manufacturers.

The pace of decrease was little changed from that seen in September and was solid overall. The weaker sales performance was often attributed to a muted domestic economy and global economic weakness, according to anecdotal evidence.
