Indonesia Manufacturing PMI Ebbs In May - S&P Global
(RTTNews) - The manufacturing sector in Indonesia continued to expand in May, albeit at a slower pace, the latest survey from S&P Global revealed on Monday with a manufacturing PMI score of 52.1.
That's down from 52.9 in April, although it remains above the boom-or-bust line of 50 that separates expansion from contraction.
There were slower gains in both output and new orders recorded by May's survey, although growth rates remained healthy and above long-term trend levels. There were reports from panelists that market demand was positive, albeit predominately domestic-led.
New export orders fell for a third successive month, highlighting ongoing softness in global manufacturing demand. As a result, overall new orders increased to the weakest degree for six months.
