I been accused of that a few times. I played with them often enough. And learned a lot. Certainly made me think a bit further than trying to plonk a trade down in the right place or try guess the next news...But I think entries are important. Specifically getting an entry with momentum. And momentum means it's been going in a direction for a while, it's still busy going in that direction and it's quite likely to continue going in that direction.Which direction and why is irrelevant.

Systems and entries don't have much in common.A system does not determine a entry. A entry is simply the first step of a system. To me a good entry has momentum. So it goes into profit quickly. I don't really care where the level is and why it is, before I do anything I need to know the thing is moving.

That's the whole point isn't it? A grid is just an entry. If you want more than this you're going to have to define a good entry.

They all end like that biz. Just no way around it. You have to deal with the losers. So the less you have of them the better, so the better your entries are....So how do we define a good entry?

I was looking for a Roman legion, or Braveheart kind of battle speech for positions entry and a Moscow Communist era public announcement for a margin call or other significant event, but been unable to find them.

Ya, what can I say.I like to putter around while the pc slogs it out with the market. But I also like to know when stuff happens. So I write alarms into the EA. Here's a few to start with:oh crap: RTFireAlarm.wavbanking: CashRegisterCha.wavand of course TP: Applause.wavall you need to do is save those to the "sounds" directory in Mt4 and the put this line into the code:PlaySound("Applause.wav");Or whatever sound you want. I once did a rock song, but it kept on waking me up. Nothing like Metallica 2 am...

I know Ed Downs sells signals in stocks. And he's a successful trader. So I know people do do it. But none of the ones I know do. And I suspect there's a reason for that.
