I'm retracting my last statement about DT... I would invest more than a dollar with him. The facts from people with nothing to gain is a priority in my books. I'm going to take a stab at it, but if DT wins, I believe sentiment will be bullish on the dollar. (Don't take my word for it though, make your own conclusions).

And HRC a drop of 20%?Let's be honest, anyone believing anything from HRC needs a reality check. Disregarding votes, ask who you would trust more to invest your money for you. I would not trust HRC with a dime of my money, but I would trust DT with no more than a Dollar.

Yup, it's decentralized and the market itself is unregulated. There are systems that did just that (cancelled rogue orders), this capped the move to approx 6% instead of the actual 10% drop. These are not guaranteed to work every time in all conditions as with stock exchanges, but it's better than nothing.FX cannot close for 3 days to 'recover', this is currency exchange happening every second of the day, even if they wanted to, it would simply be impossible.

No, it's an unregulated market. There is talk that they may call for the exclusion of exotic options trading on the fx markets to create more stability, firstly because they are known to cause irregularities and it will limit the effect of Algo's.

Pure speculation everywhere.1. Asia scare on news of possible hard Brexit.2. Algorithmic trading going haywire on low volumes.3. Gold finger tycoon (a George Soros of Asia type event)4. Nigel Farage had a nightmare (not really, but may as well throw it in)Seems nobody knows, or will ever know exact reason, and every definitive answer is a variation of speculation noise.

Congratz to her! Well done.I'm also not a fan of black gold (too manipulated by OPEC), more a gold & silver fanatic 😁

Thanks. I'll recover, but it will be slow. Closed GBP and JPY charts till brexit is finalized... there is simply too much uncertainty there.

Yeah, I had my eye on gold... then all of a sudden GBP took a dumpster dive and brought near margin call. Closed out and funded account. Took an 84% knock today 😲

How does it not work that way?You determine the best price at which you want to buy or sell by either placing a trade (accepting a price) or not (declining a price).Spread is bid and ask between you and broker, and broker gets the best quote in that negotiation regardless (spread sounds better than "our cut" :-D). Commission and spread can just as well be seen as the same thing, the broker has already subtracted that from your base currency no matter if you win or lose on the trade (in a loss, you lose trade + spread, in a win, you win trade - spread).I've already forgotten what ...

Let's take GOLD-USD as a small example, The current rate is say $1265.00, you have gold you want to sell to me, you say "I will sell my gold to you at $1270.00 (assuming there is demand)... I tell you the price is too high, go try somewhere else, I'm willing to buy your gold for $1260.00, no more. (damn, no demand for gold eh?)... you agree to $1260.00... the market price changes from $1265.00 to $1260.00 (agreed market price) indicating an agreement took place to sell at a lower price because of lower demand for gold - price moved. Same for every other pair exchange, except a USD...

Exactly. Go to 3 different currency exchanges (Bureau de Change for example)... everyone is offering a different price to exchange currency, the supply and demand for currency moves the price. The larger moves come from banks exchanging currency with other banks (eg. Bank A needs CAD, Bank B has a lot of CAD and sells CAD to bank A for USD at the best rate - USDCAD moves the most, but all USD pairs are affected by the transaction). Other factors like interest rates will also move price due to bonds and other factors... everything from bonds and savings accounts to the traveler exchanging curre...

Sort of... I'm sure you will agree that a $100 000 standard demo account is pointless (unless you plan on opening a $100k live account).I prefer to "practice" new methods / ideas / strategies on eg. a $30, low leverage (less or equal to 1:100) real micro, market execution account as opposed to a demo. The lessons learned are more accurate (more effort to learn about mistakes when using real money than just saying, "eh, ok, open new demo") and losing $30 won't break the bank. Not many brokers provide flexible options on demo accounts (maybe just an option for micro an...

By the time you get to 5 (maybe even 4) years trading real... you too will be totally calm.Edit: And you won't sit staring at the screen watching every tick either.

Only if you are scalping or day trading, not really an issue for swing or momentum trading (unless you are aiming for a specific mark, which over days / weeks / months I would find is a bit absurd) and if you are a positional trader and slippage bothers you, you have major OCD :-D

I second that comment. Start small, real micro / mini account. Don't deposit all your funds, keep to leverage 1:100 or lower (higher leverage is tempting, but cuts deeper on losses).

Trading is conflict:Between your mind and the market.Between you and your broker.Between you and other traders. (though the chances of a trader you know being directly on the opposite side of your trades in a +$3tril market is remote.)Every trader has a goal - make money.Every broker has a goal - make money.Every bank has a goal - make money. If everyone made money there would be none left to go around. If you are scared about conflict and total market distrust, it may be best to not trade and stash your money under your bed. It's risk / reward, traders take the risk for the reward - manage...

I simply haven't coded it into my EA yet. I only have a closing condition if a pair reaches a certain profit, close all orders in the pair. And if one order (any order) reaches a certain profit, at new bar, then close it. I work a full time job (that consists of an amount of coding), so either I have a lack of time, or a lack of motivation to sit at home and code after a full day at work. I'll just have to set aside a time frame every day or on the weekends and do it.I'll check out your project before the weekend.

"because you can´t close the trades until it reaches the minimum profit of all open orders."Not really, you could go deeper for your closing criteria:1. Balance profit overall is positive -> close all trades and start over. (statistically a MC* will occur eventually as it's profit or bust)2. Balance of one pair exceeds another pair -> close all orders from both pairs for overall profit.3. Balance of one order exceeds another (either from same pair or different pair) -> close both orders for overall profit.4. Balance of largest order in profit exceeds largest order ...
