Don't get too comfortable just yet. I just restarted the mt4s with Thor because my VPS usage had topped 800mb again. Will give it a little more time, but it may not be over yet.

Well, it looks like the memory leak has been fixed (hopefully). i will keep an eye on my VPS just to make sure. Anyway.....has anyone heard anything about the extra stuff we were supposed to be able to download???

EURJPY is in a hardcore trend. watch the USDJPY closely. If the USDJPY holds steady, chances are the BOJ will not intervene. This means the EURJPY will continue to drop. I recommend that you watch you margin level. If you get even remotely close to it, start removing other EAs/pairs form the account to free up margin if possible.

@CanAm---you must be using some really crappy VPS providers. I highly recommend looking into one of the VPSs I mentioned. The only times mine ever go down for maintenance is on the weekends, and I always get at least one notification before they shut down. The ONLY time my VPS has ever went down during the week was due to something I was doing that required a reboot. Second major point you appear to not be aware of, a VPS should always have a much lower latency to the order sever than any home PC. The best speed I get to my order servers is generally 70ms. I have never had a problem with continuous connectivity with any of my VPS providers. Those would be, black box vps, red paladin, forex vps, and cns.

Anything short the AUD will eat you up with interest if you keep it open long. Gotta watch that one closely.

Well, I am not the one you should be asking. I am having problems with the memory leak, and so far, have had a losing streak with Thor. There are others on here who are not having these issues.

Unfortunately, the memory leak still exists. The market didn't move very much though and That may be the reason. It seems to be drastically worse when the market moves a lot. Thor had one trade, which was a loss with Core #1. Which really sucks a lot because it was a good trade. Market jumped up just enough to cause the order to be stopped out before it proceed into profitable territory.

To be totally honest, the VPS latency is not terribly important. The important thing to to have a broker who is a market maker but won't screw you over.

Main thing to pay attention to is the slippage, and the blocking of order modification. As long as you have a low slippage, and you broker isn't trying to keep MDP form making the necessary modifications, you should be okay with it.

I would venture to say, they are inexperienced traders. Using 5% risk with MDP is asking to have your account equity stripped away from you. There are people on this forum that can vouch that, even using a 2% risk, MDP can lose nearly half the account in a single trade set. Using 5% risk opens them to the very real possibility of losing 60%-90% of their account in a few seconds. They are effectively gambling at this point.

Generally, the people that gained that much in a month were either referring to the good months in the middle of 2011, or they had the risk level jacked up. Or it was on a demo account.

Well, first update installed. Maybe whatever they problem was will be fixed by something that has changed in this update on accident. That said, i am also now beginning to wonder is where are the extras?

rgmmann, I am forced to agree. This problem did not exist before i installed Thor. I have eliminated every other possibility that could be conflicting with it. Problem still exists. It is apparently bad enough that CNS has noticed a direct correlation. Every time I have told them my VPS is locked up, before I even give them any details, they ask if i am running Thor. I also asked their tech support if the problem was only occurring for people using Win2003 OS and they told me they had noticed it was happening with win 2003 and win 2008 equally and the common factor was everyone with this probl...

Well, it isn't a conflict with the other EAs. I deleted them and the memory still keeps creeping. I also tried shutting down on of the MT4 instances on my VPS that was running some other systems. No change. After complete restart, mem usage started at a little less than 550mb and is currently just now peaking above 800mb. This has happened within the last 12 hours. i am going to wait until it gets closer to 1 gb and then I am going to do a video capture of closing and restarting the 2 mt4s with Thor running. That way I have proof I can show the tech support.
