Hi Chan77. That setting of 2 is not a valid one. It can only be set to matchactual Tom's EA multiplier values such as 1 (for 1X), 3 (for 3X), 6 (for 6X),9 (for 9X), etc. So, you can expect that setting of 2 to spit out hilarious trades!Please find your manual...-Drew=================================================

No, I'm not blaming MT4. The EA stores a lot of data (ie, all the 1X orders not taken),and if there's any change to the parameters after it's in play, you just corrupted theinternal data stream (according to the programmer). That's his explanation for thesingleton negative trades (which Tom's EA never did - there were always positive higherlevel trades in the same basket accompanying any negative trades)-D====================================================

Hey Patrick and Vontogr, I realize my MT4 was corrupted by old data. So, today I started a new MT4with the new v0.92 EA on all 28 Major/Minor pairs. $50K, 400:1, iRisk 2, mult_filter 1. I have never been able to make any backtesting work. Always get errors with any EAand maximum 25% accuracy, So, not interested. Wasted too many days on that. -d=====================================================

Steve (ForexJack), I know the Tom's EA forum here did spring out in many different directions at times. There are still groups out there on different websites, but I'm not following Tom's EA specifically anymore. I think this EA (if it proves out) or the Trade Copier method on Tom's EA are superior.So, what multiplier_filter did you use? 1? Anything higher and you might not see any activity for many days. Once it starts accumulating data though, the higher level orders will be quite regular.Happy trading..-D===============================================================

Hey all. I've discussed my weird results with the programmer and he swearsmy problem is corrupt logging due to old variables and objects.So he modified the EA to automatically clean out all objects and global variablesfrom other EAs that may have been run in the past on your MT4 platform.I believe this would be the same as using a freshly installed MT4. I tend to re-use my 30 or so MT4 installations. Hi Greg. Nice to see this group is still alive.The behaviour was similar on mine, yesterday was a huge correction day andmost 3X, 6X, and 9X orders closed.But I too, am concerned why some single 3X trades and even larger baskets areclosed negative - Tom's EA never did that. I would suggest that, if you have no open orders right now, to delete the EA onevery chart. Then close the MT4 terminal, re launch it, then add the EA back toeach chart with your iRisk=3 setting. This is for delanth and anyone who wants to run this EA on limited funds.Get a CENT account at the well known broker RoboForex - they were voted best Forex broker recently.Then with only $1000 real $$ you will play AS IF you had 100 times that amount. I like it for being ableto tweak the lot sizes. We are limited to 0.01 as the smalllest lot size at other brokers but with 100times more - we are now dealling in Cents not Dollars - we can use lots like 0.55 (or 0.0055L in dollars)Also, we will be able to 'safely' use more pairs.just 2 more ¢ to add...;)-d============================...

Hi Greg, multiplier 0 means ALL trades are opened, including the 1X's - which generally ARE a loss.(but not always) Anyway, on your History, right-click and turn Comments On. You will see theLevel of the orders closed. I would be curious to know if they are 1X or 3X. (it will say somethinglike 'FX_Cure BUY 3' or 'FX_Cure BUY 1' - the 3 is a 3X level order and the 1 is a 1X level order)please let us know...----Now your new demo account with multiplier 3 means ONLY 6X and larger levels trades will be opened.---and this might not be for a week or more, so be patient in this ca...

Hi all, with regards to the problem I indicated earlier abouthaving singleton negative trades closed, I asked theprogrammer about this and he said that problem wasmy own fault, by changing some parameters of the EAwhile it has collected data. Wow, I just saw 2 new 3X trades closed for negative amount.This is only possible if there is/are additional 6X and/or 9X or largertrades that are positive and larger. I will consult the programmer.Looks to me like a bug here. Tom's EA never would have asingleton negative trade in 3X - it would always be part of a basketwith higher-order positive trades.(I started with iRisk =1 but switched to iRisk = 2, multiplier always = 1)I'll let ya'll know...-d==========================================

Yes, multiplier = 0 lets in all levels, including all the 1X orders.So, you will have approximately 9 times as many orders as multiplier 1X.But that defeats the purpose - you will likely blow your account too if theiRisk is too high or your Equity is too low.-d=========================================

Yes, there areseveral lines of variable assignments containing language such as:double macd1 = iMACD(NULL, MACD_TF,.....) so I guess the code istesting different timeframes to check for an entry point - and will notwork in a back test. Got it David. That GBP/JPY loss today was due to my changing the multiplier from 1 to 2.The Oct. 2 order was with setting '1', but was still open when I changed the setting to '2'So, the next GBP/JPY opened (they (baskets) are tracked internally by Magic Number)in the same baske, and the calculations got screwed up. (I know not very technical)So, we find our first Rule now....-->1. Don't change the multiplier_filter setting when there are still open orders (!)I'm not saying it will result in a loss everytime, but I just showed that it can...-D====================...
