It is in such a tight range. It is hard to see where it is going without a breakout to assist. Ill be holding to make sure i am happy with the direction after the retest

Thats the thing losses are it doesnt matter how good a trader is the market is too volatile and has too many moving parts. If we have an edge and we let the law of large numbers take over we can be profitable even with the losses

Very clever and to be honest true. EAs are machines and are not really successful and lots of traders fail trading but putting the two together can definitely be interesting. I use a trade manager to manage my trades and i think it helps a lot

That is one of the most baffling things for sure. Like there are traders with degrees and 7 year internships and retail traders for a better word spending years honing their craft and then someone comes in after 2 months and thinks they're gonna hit 6 figures a month

I think it is definitely still bullish there seems to be a lack of liquidity or momentum at the moment. Just ranging up and down atm

It is definitely something that can take over your life if not careful. I think as people become more experienced thats less so it becomes more boring and methodical. Then success comes because thats the way you actually have to trade following rules and not doing drastic things

I think being unrealistic is the biggest flaw for sure if people gave trading the same effort and commitment as a degree they would see so many better results imo

Yeah i think that is the big allure of EAs but trade managers can be a happy medium like you can enter trades and the bot manages it for you

It is impossible to ignore emotions as we are all human but it is key to have a trading plan that you can work from that minimizes the affect they have on it. Like knowing you have proper risk management and partial profit taking with a TP will stop a lot of the negative emotions

It really does take years. I think thats the massive issue with most traders if they accepted it would be years to be consistent they wouldnt be blowing accounts because others have been successful in 'months' consistency is so key but as you say is hard because the markets are moving from trending to ranging to volatile and you need to be consistent in all of them types

I would also go as far as saying traders need to match it to their personality and time availability. Some prefer scalping as its quick and can do many in a day others prefer to do position trading leaving one trade on for months

This is a really good post, i have definitely noticed a drop in trading during the summer. This is not just my observations the ATR and ADR actually drop too. Didnt think of the Oil or UCAD aspect though so will be watching for that too

The best way to put it is to focus on the process not the outcome. It is so key to focus on step 1-5 of your trading plan and let the outcome unfold

DXY is just so powerful at the moment it is relentless add to that the weakness in the JPY and it is breaking recent records in price. Only pair that really is moving tbf

To be honest i think you're absolutely right if they knew that it was hard work they would stay well away. I suppose some just don't get it until years later. Im 2 years in now and finally becoming profitable but its been blood, sweat and tears tbh

It's still in that tight range on the higher timeframe. Atm its at 40K is but not broken any structure really cant wait for it to shows its hand properly

I agree, experience cant be bought or there is no shortcut to it. It is the one thing all traders have to go through. I am still in the experience learning stage but it is definitely the best teacher
