China Bank Lending Remains Weak
China's bank lending remained weak in July amid high interest rates, official data revealed on Tuesday. Aggregate financing totalled CNY 18.87 trillion in the January to July period, which was down by CNY 3.22 trillion, the People's Bank of China said. Within this total, yuan-denominated loans to the real economy increased by CNY 12.38 trillion in the first seven months of the year.

UK Wage Data Supports Calls For Gradual Rate Cut
The slower-than-expected deceleration in the UK wage growth supports the case for gradual interest rate cuts by the Bank of England later this year after a quarter-point reduction early this month. Average earnings excluding bonus climbed 5.4 percent in the three months to June from the previous year, slower than the 5.8 percent rise in the prior period, the Office for National Statistics said.
