The results so far on this forward testing account seem vastly different to the backtest - which suggests to me manual intervention/baby sitting. Risk/reward ratio is terrible - 1 loosing trade will wipe out roughly 4 winners.

Hahaha! It's so funny cause it's so true about Aussie police! You can hardly set off a party popper without alerting the police!. I was arrested and questioned when I was 13 because I stuck my tongue out at a policeman who growled at me for leaning against a shop front!! :D

I've traded with them for about 8 months now. I think for an Australian based non commission broker their spreads are fairly good, better then GO Markets on most pairs from memory. Execution speeds can be a bit slow at times. Support seems a little unprofessional, I often have to remind them to credit my account for any promotions - not that I'm too worried. Withdrawals are usually next day - they use NAB. VPS is good - the cost of $49 pm is refunded to you if you trade 10+ lots a month, they've changed VPS providers three times since I've been with them which was a big pain si...

The only thing I could say on the positive side for eToro is that it is good for beginners. Well, it's how I got started in forex anyway. But other then that it's a joke - connectivity issues, extremely slow trade execution speeds, high fixed spreads, fees for holding a trade over the weekend... Any trader with any experience would steer clear of eToro, it's a place for beginners to gain experience in loosing money ;-)

Dashisiong, yes 30k at 1:300 X = 10 max trades at 0.1 lots with the above settings - but that is obviously too aggressive as I took a 40% loss. I don't use a SL, when it reached max trade level and then kept going I just closed all the trades manually so as to not loose the entire account if the move continued against me.1000 X leverage will definitely help with 3k at 0.02 lot. I've started FH again but only 0.01 lot for 18k 400 X leverage 12 max open (I might up the lot size now). Yes, good idea to turn it off over 15/12 - 15/01, at least we know now! Do you think 8 max open is enoug...

2 - 10% per month is not far fetched at all. It's easily achievable. If you think it is, you may as well be doing something else far less risky.

I'm trading for a living. Recently took a big hit but I've got other investments to fall back on. I think that's very important when trading for a living - you must have a back up plan.

I'm scratching my head thinking how did you do that? What kinda time frame are we talking here, how long did it take you to turn that 150 into 500? It's an automated system, an EA right?
