With the inflation stabilizing, and falling closer to the banks 2% goal, the likelihood that the bank will use rate hikes to combat excess inflation is fading. But the dollar have been on a falling momentum.

Depends on ECB speeches, Rimsevics said the QE could continue for years, WSJ reported reported on potensial signal on QE unwinding on the 7. sept meeting. It seems clear that the ECB is fairly divided in the question. Which may favor the downside. Yellens testemony will set the direction for today.

If you put a longterm trade with a near 100% chance of success, it sure is better than short term trades with maybe 60% chance of success.Examples, everyone knew the brexit would weaken GBP, you could easily put a 1300 pip or so even after the result came in(!), the french election weakening the euro, here you could make about 700 pip with a poor entry. The US rate hike path, where you could make 2000 pips in a few months on several major pairs. The political situation in greece last year, the political situation in Turkey, the situation in Brazil, in Russia, the move to normalization on the J...

While many central banks are going in a more hawkish path within a year is bad for japanese bonds, we will likely see stocks falling, resulting in a boost for the japanese stock market (which are heavily supported by the central banks buying).

You know you can download Dukascopy data for free, right? And for most folks, getting some tool like Tickstory or Tick Data Suite would be cheaper since you need a 99% backtest tool anyway.

Poloz could definitly give it a push with a repetition of a hawkish stance, but oil remains a heavy longterm influencer.

HFT in MQL? Use FIX protocol instead, and you can get sub millisecond execution if you need it.

Tell that to Greece. Government promised pensions are like any other government expense at the hand of the politicians. You can cut pensions, just as you can do cut in social security or the military.

Aye, the big problem is that the debt increases more than the economy as a whole, meaning interest takes up more and more of the government budgets, resulting in higher and higher taxes or more and more loans until eventually risk defaulting.Rand Paul had a good solution a few years back, just cut every government program by the 43% or something. Balance the budget in a year to prevent this being a problem in the future. Sadly it didn't get much government support. Give it 20 years when the cuts will happen by force due to inability to actually service debt.

Its a bit tricky to put numbers like that, because the government owns like 6 trillion to itself. Then there is about 1/4 held by other governmental entities like the Federal Reserve and state and local government, the interest of those loans goes back to the government. At some point there will be a problem, and with credit downgrades, so comes the rate increases on Treasury bills.I have no idea how much assets an average US family holds.

Conservatives did not get a majority. As such the risk for political instability have increased. What gave the fuel to boost the pound are now over, I think the pair is likely to stay continue below 1.27 just as before the election announcement.
