Honestly for the amount of time spent keeping it in check you're probably better off just spending time on your manual trading.

As you mention I like the 79 fib level. I can see a few confluences there that lead me to think that would be a high probability long.

Exactly, you are only in control of what you can lose. So focus on that. Put simply you can't expect to make anything.
The fear of losing opportunity

This also comes from repetition and the confidence gained from knowing your edge. Doing so can completely remove fear from the equation and replace it with cold logic.

Wow JPY is so weak at moment. Looks like we are taking aim at the 2015-2016 highs now.

Knowledge is vital for directed practice. But too few bother with either of these.

None personally. I look to aspects of price to give me the information I need.

I don't think they offer anything useful to traders long term. They put emphasis on reward over process.

The bump in interest rates by the BoE will strengthen the GBP at least short term.

Much better looking set up this time around. Likely to retrace after this move up and a number of imbalances below to fill.

I still think this looks like it's heading down to me so would be looking to catch the short after this long set up. But good luck with this one.

The markets are still adhering to technical levels as I see them but movement into them is less predictable than normal for sure.

I think the same is true of many hedge funds as well. They too are trying to second guess what the banks will do with price, just with more money than the average retail trader.

100% agree with everyone saying about demo as well. Nothing glamorous about demo practice but proper traders aren't here for the glam.

Very much lacking in new traders though as the focus is on making money quickly too often. Then they go down the route of looking for shortcuts which ironically turn into the total opposite.

The issue I find with geopolitical risk like wars is unpredictable news releases. I don't trade around news events normally but times like these are one massive news event 24/7. It makes trading much harder so there is much more sitting on my hands than normal.

I'm afraid there were equal highs which you've pointed out with the red line on the high and another off screen. Combined with HL on the approach wouldn't make me confident of a short here. As such price powered through this level. Zooming out further it has cleared another set of equal highs too. Betting against the USD in this climate is brave also.
Greed is poison

I think it's a fine balance. If greed keeps you in a trade too long when everything is telling your to get out then of course it leads to loss. Equally I think that there is a psychological issue we face as traders where some will feel "unworthy" of making a certain amount of money and will cut trades short from fear that "that's enough". Let the markets tell you when that is enough and you will likely strike the balance.

Understanding if a system works well or not requires a decent dataset to cut out anomalous results and periods of positive and negative variance. You have to stick to a plan to gain this dataset. There are no shortcuts.
