Agree! Returns become meaningless if you're on the edge of blowing your account each time you trade. I consider my own 19% drawdown as being high, but 90%?

What you are talking about is discipline. If a system has strict and precise rules to follow, then one trader will perform identical to another if using the same system, and applying the very same rules. But most of us don't because we react differently to each other when confronted with the same set of circumstances...we're humans! In any event, good luck with your turn at the control.

Trend lines join highs with highs, and lows with lows, so it makes sense to use the wicks since these represent highs and lows. The more important factor is making sure you work from "Right to Left" on the chart, joining the nearest high/low with the previous nearest high/low.

Psar is great during a trend, but not so good during sideways trading. You show two moving averages on your chart indicating a buy signal. Your Psar indicates a buy signal. The chart is showing a False Break Buy signal. But...if you were to add a momentum oscillator you would most likely see divergence, which suggests this buy signal is a little weak and you should wait for further confirmation. Try Williams Percent Range (WPR), and wait until WPR is above -20 for a buy, or below -80 for a sell. Good luck!

There was an opportunity to manually close a few trades that were in modest profit, but beginning to look a bit suspect

Simple...last two "highest" highs and last two "lowest" lows. Resistance must be sloping down and support must be sloping up. Timeframe, bar chart, candle chart make no difference. Update everytime a new "highest" high or "lowest" low is formed.

The strategy: Simple Moving Average, Tom DeMark Trend Lines, Williams Percent Range, Williams False Break Buy/Sell Pattern, good money management plan, and a daily timeframe.
