it seems that this system is running on a very bad period. It has always been recovering pretty well (apart from the failure on the 15th of january on the other myfxchoice live account) but this time it seems to struggle. Any thoughts from those using it or the owner?

That is a very interesting question for those like me that are interested in buying this robot/signal.Is the slippage really so "painful"? Is the EA still available (as I guess it would avoid that kind of slippage...) for selling?

If for only 3 orders you are risking to wipe away your account maybe you used a wrong money management, unless you are using a very small account (something like a no deposit account) I will suggest you to fix it as soon you will be able to. Meaning you should lower your risk / lot used.

It's the same for me that I still am not using vortex trader pro :D :D :D It's been quite a strange first half of the year (and I had to include also a big loss because of the SBF, damn them).

I started working with the SQ Tick Downloader yesterday, actually it seems to have what I was looking for (meaning indices and commodities with a good enough historical period). Still in the learning process though. Thanks a lot. I will end up writing my review on this matter so that anyone who will have such a problem will find a benefit from this post. Right now, if I well understood, the 90% modelling quality is enough for most of the traders and strategies and the most one can reach from 1 minute's data. And that should be enough for most of our trading systems, at least for the ones ...

Generally speaking on a short period like yours, the risk is to over-optimize the system, meaning that it will work awesomely on that period but it will not work in the future. For a system working on H1 with the trading frequency it seems to have yours I would suggest optimizing your settings on a testing window of 1 year or more. Later on, you should test your best results on other 2 or 3 years separately (let's say first you optimize on 2014 and the first months of 2015 and then you test your results on 2011, 2012 and 2013). I also notice another critical issue. If the system performe...

After Alpari went bankrupt, I lost the mt4 platform where I was downloading historic data to run the strategy tester. Where should I download reliable historic data to feed the mt4 strategy tester as my broker do not offer that? I also need cfd indexes (dax30, eurostox50, spx500, dow30, etc.) commodities and metals.I need at least a couple of years (let's say from 2013) of 1 min. data. When I mean reliable data I mean that testing in "every tick" mode I would like to get a quality of 99% and most of all I need that those data comes with not errors or holes. Can you please help me?

Actually in cases like last thursday stop loss burned many accounts...with a spread of 200 pips and market flowing thousands pips every robot with stop gave many pips in losses (mine too :( )...it's not just a matter of stop loss but trying to imagine, consider and evaluate (and code if you are programming EAs) every possibility

Usually a regulator grants retail customers only a certain amount of money. FCA (better FSCS), if I am not mistaken, grants up to 50k GBP.

Actually ICMARKETS had the same problem as other brokers today. Spread was at 200 pips in average on usdchf (and maybe eurchf but I was not watching it real time) for a long time, meaning more than 10' and later on it was at 60 pips in average...I can understand that the problem with this EA was because of the spread and the absence of the liquidity providers, I had a very similar problem today with a trending robot and I could stop my EA just in time to avoid the default but suffered a heavy DD. On the programming side: a check on the spread before entering maybe could fix this problem? I...
Question about autotrade provider
in
New Traders
Jan 14, 2015 at 09:29
Hi, first of all you need at least 3 months of historical data. Regarding your first question, you need at least the previous 3 months with less than 50% drawdown so watching your account you could start becoming a provider 3 months from the 30 of december supposing you will not hit the 50% dd again in this period.I am not sure about your second question answer but I guess it's possible to provide also signals on cfds. But maybe someone else is more informed than me. Regards.

And why did you put your account on myfxbook and moreover why are you updating your results about it every now and then?

Actually history is useless to copy trades and open trades too (as they are not update realtime by myfxbook) would not be useful for that purpose. Anyway as it is now I can't see a reason why anyone should buy or invest in your trading idea (EA?). But you are obviously free to keep it this way. ;)
