The university research into reducing the risk and increasing the profitabilty of Retail FX traders is coming to an end, many thanks for all those who have participated. Hi all - you may remember a few months ago a request went out for input from FX traders as part of some University research. The survey is now closed, many thanks to all that took part. Hi again, you may remember a thread a few months ago about some research being done into the profitability of the retail trader. As part of this ongoing research we are developing a 'serious game' - one that allows a trader to practice making trading decisions in a non-trading environment. Hi there, I am undertaking some research at Nottingham Trent University into the profitability of the 'retail FX trader'. The ultimate aim of this is to see if the field of 'serious gaming' can be applied to FX trading, to help increase profitability and reduce risk. Hi Ryan, MouseTrap is still running and trading! It looks for areas of consolidation of a certain type and so there can be longish gaps between trading spurts. Not very exciting but systems that aim to get long term profitability never are!Keep watching!Chris

Hi Ryan, after some more testing, including a period where the markets are not favourable to it, I may well make the EA commercially available, but it is too soon yet to say if this is just a lucky start. I have 4 or 5 people who have expressed an interest and I will post something on the blog once I have decided what to do. Thanks for the interest. Chris
