Blessing v3.8

Hi Gerald - looking good on the account. That AUDNZD seems quite aggressive though - any particular reason why you're risking a much higher lot size compared to the other trades??Have you started on the EV bandwagon yet as well ?
Spread Calculation
in
Suggestion Box
Apr 04, 2011 at 20:15
Not sure if I'm right in thinking this, but if you have the Open Price, and the Close Price, and what MetaTrader reports to you as the Pip Profit / Profit, then isn't it possible to calculate the Spread that the broker then uses per Symbol and the time?If this is true, then not only can it give you good feedback on the Spreads in effect vs the volumes of trades closed etc per account, but also across all users showing the average broker spread etc.

Hi Gerald - I've been monitoring your account and keeping an eye on it from day 1 - any idea what happened here on the EURUSD at all?

Fantastic, very pleased that it did correct itself and that you got some fresh trades back on track.Hopefully you had your first CashBackForex payout as well - which would be some extra margin when ploughed back in.I'm holding off the restart of my account until my finances settle down a little so will be back in the New Year...

Custom Notes on Graphs

Suggestion Box
Oct 14, 2010 at 15:50
Hi All,Been using Myfxbook for a while and it's great. It's really good to show some other forex investors how your account is performing. One thing that would be fantastic is the ability to add custom notes or "pushpins" to the three main graphs that you have. e.g. I stop and start various EA's as I go along, and also manually close trades for various reasons, across multiple currencies. Would be great to be able to add a few notes to graphs saying things like "xxx EA started here"; "Large crash in USDJPY - manual trades taken" etc..

Also noticed that you've ramped EURCHF up to a starting lot of 0.05 ? Is that correct? Do have to say though - this is shaping up to be probably the best and most risk diversified Blessing portfolio that I have found so far. Brilliant results - Can't wait to shift my USDJPY drawdown and practically re-start my account like this.I'm also working on a AUDUSD set file for Blessing. I'm finding it quite hard to get a consistent result but really want to get it working. AUDUSD has the shortest spreads on GoMarket account - ~1.4 pips - so it could be a good earner...

Woah... That doesn't sound good! I've noticed a few problems with the stats on MyFXbook, but I think it mostly comes down to the web browser caching and the need to refresh every page once or twice to get the true picture. With regards to the ForexVPS - that sounds pretty bad service when you can't even browse to their website or login to your VPS! Must have been one major power outtage or something serious to make that happen. The only thing that I have found about the VPS's is the need to always connect via RDP and using the "/console" switch. This should prevent you...

Any idea how its calculated a 99% draw down for your account? Seemed a bit odd to me..

Yeha - Gerald... was showing -400. Luckily it's closed at $17 profit. Perhaps you're risking too much on the lot size with that one? 2.3 Lots is a very large trade...Looks like your Blessing 3.8 is finally started trading well. On my nano account all Blessing pairs are working like a charm (apart from USDJPY). If those trades EVER close then might be the longest trades in Blessing history - been open for nearly 4 months now...

Hi Gerald,I'm assuming that this has now become your main trading account? Any news on the set-up? Is it similar to what you have hinted to in the Blessing forum - i.e. Blessing 3.8.1 running on multiple pairs (4 - 6 ?) and all proportioned equally?Would be great to know the set files used and the Portion settings that you are using for each.Cheers,daCoops

I'm assuming that this account is now dead....Now that the USD-JPY has recovered from rock bottom (I've gone from Equity £40 back up to a more comfortable £260 after the BoJ intervention) I've now restarted Blessing 3.8 with 4 currencies and 20% portions... Ticking over penny profits using the standard Micro set files on website.

Hi Gerald, A setting of 1.0 Lot size on this size account is suicide in my opinion. I'm running a very aggressive set file on my nano account (obviously a different one to yours) but I think that the GAF is under 1 so indicates a MicroGrid. On EUCHF although all my baskets have closed in profit, I've seen it enter into the 3rd and 4th levels. I purely think that you are throwing your money away with a lot of 1.A lot size of 0.3 - 0.5 as an initial size would yield high profits but would also allow you to go into a number of levels. If you really want to throw away $2000 then I can give...

Hi GeraldI've just recently set up a VPS account with SWVPS - they charge $20 a month for VPS accounts which is quite cheap. So far I haven't had any problems but have only been up and running for a week. Good point on the latency above - might do some ping tests to assess the latency invovled. One other thing if you haven't already done so is to sign up with CashBackForex. I'm trading very small amounts on my GoMarkets L-Plate account (No problems with them so far as well - good Ozzie broker) and Alpari UK account combined - only about 1 to 2 Round Lots a day, but I'm still...

Hi - Very impressive results. Can you tell us a little about your strategy?Looking through the trade lists, you seem to take trades at certain times of the day, and always close them at specific times - e.g. 17:00 / 18:00 / 20:00 etc. Haven't looked through all of 800 odd pages of trades, but this seemed very interesting and very precise and fixed entry points - i'm thinking that you may not use any advanced indicators at all...

Hi - Thanks for the response.I've been running it on USDJPY for a while now. I seem to find that it takes a long time for each basket of trades to actually close - e.g. anything from around 4 days to about 5 or 6 days of open trading. Is this usually the case for yourself running it as well?Is it possible if you could remove the restriction on your Open / History Orders view as well? It would be really good if I could compare the trades that you do. I've started to run more and more robots (mainly scalpers) on my account so I've expanded my range and profitability a little since I&...
