To Crazy trader: You cant instantly transfer forex funds from one account to the other. Its not like your bank . Its a approval process and could take 24 hrs or longer. At lease with my broker forex.com Its a request process to move money. Its not automatic.

So you had a 70% DD on a USA broker and didnt get a margin call? Interesting, May I ask who the broker is? DO you have this on a chart?

In the USA, A DD of 30% can blow the account since we have the 50/1 ratio and FIFO rules. That makes your 70% DD a failed setup for a USA broker. We cant hedge on the same pair. Perhaps someone has a heging EA that we can use on a different pair?

I can do 2% monthly .... but above that is big risk. See my charts.. Last chart is a large demo account trading multiple pairs (10). Its goal is 2 to 3 % a month. Its a new setup on my own home built EA. Lots of Micro trades per day. Averages 200 to 350 a day trading 0.01 lots. TP is 9. Grid plus martingale on a very small micro set file.

If you can build a EA that has 6% a month growth and less than 20% DD, then you have built a better mouse trap and the world will come knocking at your door! This is a steady and safe long term real money account!
Hi, this is my strategy.

This should be easy to build on the MT5 wizzard. Try it!Garry

You dont have to trade that account on MT4. just use it for monitering and so that it will update charts online. That way you can observer your trading in graphs and numbers as presented by this web site. It would be like a remote moniter setup. Perhaps easyer to visualize as a trade copier.

csloh1960, use a grid.. lots of are free. If you need one let me know. I have built a few of them. just send me your email. Lots of fun, but they are high risk. more fun than chess during back testing..... Garry

Changed TP to 9 as on some pairs the Broker didnt allow the EA to set the TP every time.

A $100 to $1000 might be a fun challenge on demo. But start up size is still to small for my EA.

After 8 years of FOREX EAs and hand trading, I have learned that the best method is slow and steady. Im using my own EA that trades multiple pairs ( 10 or more ) on a large account. Goal is 2 to 3 percent growth a month with small risk and low DD. Its the only safe way to trade it seems.

Interesting for sure. avg trades are only 19 minutes. I see some simple lot doubling, but not tripling like some martingales.

Question: Im forward testing one of my home built EAs. Its a grid system and Im wondering about how many open trades that MT4 can handle. Im running 10 pairs trading both sides. Its a grid type of system. I was thinking I had once read that it could handle up to 99 trades, but once in a while, im sure my grid system could have 12 or more trades open per pair. ANy one know for sure how many trades MT4 can handle? If no one knows then I will attempt to build a setup and attempt to test for more than 99. Im trading at over 1600 trades so far this week and this number per week is sure to increase...

You are all correct on this. Making a fair 6% a month with a safe DD is very hard on long term. I have home built robots that can do 1-2% a month fairly safely, but anything above that, the risk of DD goes way up. 4% profits a month can give you DD of 40%. Very few of us wish to risk that kind of captial. WE all want and wish for larger profits and safer DD, but its very hard to obtain over a long term.
