@RTSE: I just heard about Wiest's book today (hence me finding this thread). A guy whom I respect was praising it, but it sure sounded like he was advocating averaging down, which conventional wisdom says (for a technical trader) never to do. The guy did seem to qualify it as being for commodities, and explained that (I believe) the reasoning is you do it when price gets below the cost to produce the commodity. So that, unlike a stock, price will not stay that low for very long. He also praised the book for addressing currencies, and I believe the cross-market aspect of commodities and cur...
