Thai Manufacturing PMI Sinks To 49.9 In Match - S&P

(RTTNews) - The manufacturing sector in Thailand fell into contraction in March, the latest survey from S&P Global revealed on Tuesday with a manufacturing PMI score of 49.9.
That's down from 50.6 in February and it falls beneath the boom-or-bust line of 50 that separates expansion from contraction.
Manufacturing production growth in Thailand slowed to a near-neutral level in March. While some manufacturers further raised their production levels by working through their existing orders, others reported that output shrank amidst lower new work inflows.
Indeed, the volume of new orders contracted marginally for a third straight month in March, affected by softening demand conditions. This included export orders, which has fallen continuously since September 2023.
