(RTTNews) - Consumer prices in South Korea were up just 0.1 percent on month in May, the Bank of Korea said on Tuesday.

That was shy of expectations for an increase of 0.2 percent following the flat reading in April.

Core CPI, which excludes the volatile prices of food, was up 0.2 percent on month and 2.2 percent on year after advancing 0.2 percent on month and 2.3 percent on year a month earlier.
