Sensex, Nifty Open Higher On Firm Global Cues
(RTTNews) - Indian shares opened on a positive note Tuesday, mirroring positive cues from global markets.
The benchmark S&P/BSE Sensex was up 267 points, or 0.4 percent, at 78,233 in early trade after seeing heavy selling pressure in the previous session on worries about the HMP Virus outbreak.
The broader NSE Nifty index was up 123 points, or half a percent, at 23,739. Nuvoco Vistas rose 1.5 percent after it won a bid to acquire Vadraj Cement in an insolvency resolution process.
Adani Enterprises rallied 2 percent after it joined hands with Thailand's Indorama Resources for a foray into the petrochemical business.
Arkade Developers jumped 3 percent on news it is eyeing Rs. 2,150 crore revenue from redevelopment of three residential projects in Mumbai.
Info Edge fell 2 percent after it reported standalone billings of Rs 668.3 crore for the December quarter.
NESCO soared 3.6 percent after it bagged a tender for a Rs 225 crore Bengaluru-Chennai highway amenities project.
Ashoka Buildcon jumped 4 percent after a new order win.
