Sensex, Nifty Give Up Early Gains

(RTTNews) - Indian shares were slightly lower on Tuesday, giving up early gains as investors awaited clarity on Donald Trump's trade policies and tariffs.

The benchmark S&P/BSE Sensex was down 96 points, or 0.1 percent, at 76,977 while the broader NSE Nifty index was little changed at 23,354.

UltraTech Cement, Shriram Finance, Hindalco, Apollo Hospitals Enterprise and BPCL climbed 1-3 percent while Kotak Mahindra Bank, Adani Ports, Adani Enterprises and Trent all fell around 1 percent.

Dixon Technologies India plunged 9 percent despite the company reporting a stellar set of Q3 earnings.

Likewise, Oberoi Realty plummeted 5.3 percent despite Q3 net profit rising 72 percent year-on-year.

MCX slumped 5.5 percent as Q3 net profit missed Street expectations.

Vodafone Idea tumbled 3 percent. The company said it hasn't received any communication from the government regarding waiver of AGR dues.

Cipla rose about 1 percent after its Goa facility received form 483 with one observation from the U.S. FDA.
